Taylor's POV

I walked into English smiling. Victoria and I got to hang out last night, and it made me happy. My mood quickly faded when Austin was in the seat next to mine, again. Why me, just why me?

"Hey!" Austin said as I sat down.

"Hi." I replied, looking down at my papers.

"Well isn't someone just Mrs. Sunshine this morning?" He linked his hands together and put them on his desk, leaning forward.

"Only around you." I replied with a sarcastic smile.

"You know everyone says your shy, how come you aren't shy around me?" He smirked.

He's right though, I'm not shy around him? How is that even possible when I'm shy around everyone?? Before I could answer the bell rang.

"Okay class, we have a partner project! And before you ask no you don't get to pick your partner." The teacher said, saving me from further conversation, "The project is for you and your partner to write a short story, not a little kids' book, more like a short teen fiction book. It can only be a maximum of 200 pages, minimum of 100. It must be school appropriate. Now any questions?"

"I have one!" Thomas raised his hand, "Do we have to read it to the class?'

"Oh yes, I almost forgot. You and your partner must each be one of the characters, make them act and do what you would do in the situation you put them in. You and you partner will then read your characters' dialogue and thoughts out loud to the class."

"When is it due?" Austin asked.

"Monday, that gives you today and the weekend to work on it. You will not be given time to work on it during class, so you and your partner must find a way to meet up to work. Now I will pair you up." She moved to the left side of the classroom and began to pair kids up. "Johnny, Samantha. Paul, Ty. Logan, Chris. Yo, Rees. Thomas, Veronica. Taylor, Austin. L-"

"Wait w-what?! Me and who?" I asked cutting her off.

"Austin?" She replied confused. "You and Austin."

I looked over at Austin, he had smirk on his face.

"Taylor we're partners! YES!" He winked at me. "So when can we meet up? Your house? My house?"

"Definitely not mine." I replied quickly.

"Okay, we can go to mine after school today. Do you need a ride?"

"I guess." I shrugged and fiddled with my fingers.

When class was over Austin walked with me to my locker. I got my stuff and we went to his car. It was a red Jeep Wrangler. I climbed in on the passenger's side.

"Wow, nice car. I've always wanted one." I said looking around the inside and the back seats.

"Yeah? I saved up and paid for it all on my own." He replied. I just nodded. We drove in silence til we reached his house and I got out.

"AUSTINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!" A little girl with brown curly hair ran towards Austin.

"EVAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!" Austin crouched down embracing her in a hug.
