AUSTIN'S POV
"Hey Austin, Austin hey, Austinnnnnnnnnnn!" Eva said jumping on my bed. Giving up on more sleep, I grabbed her pulling her into a bear hug.
"EVAAAAAA!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOSH I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!! EVAAAAA!!!" I said cuddling her.
"AUSTIN! LET GO OF ME!!! EWW YOU'RE SLOBBER IS IN MY EAR!!!!!" She said jumping up, and running out of my room, but not before turnign and saying, "That was nasty Mr. I'm telling."
I laughed and got in the shower. I let the water relax my muscles before getting out. I got out and put on my Gray V-neck, leather jacket, and jeans. Fixing my hair into a front spike I walked out of my room and down stairs into the kitchen. I saw my homework on the table. Crap! I needed to write two poems for English!
Eh, I'll just ask Taylor for help. I'm about to be fifty dollars richer, although I don't really need it. Packing up my stuff and grabbing a Granola Bar I headed towards my car. I pulled out of the driveway ready for another day of school, or as I like to call it, Hell. As I was driving I saw Taylor walking towards the school. I pulled over and rolled down my windows.
"Taylor?" She stared at me shocked, "Would you like a ride to school?"
When she started to shake her head I flashed her my crooked grin that always worked on girls.
"Umm its actually not that far I-I can walk." She chewed on her lip as she spoke, ouch my smile didn't work?
"C'mon, I want to." I said with puppy dog eyes.
"Why?" She asked seriously. That caught me off guard.
"What do you mean?"
"Why do you want to give me a ride to school?" She stared at me with an intense look.
"Taylor I-I just I want to help. Just please get in the car?" I began to feel guilt build in my stomach.
"No." She began to walk-run towards school. Winning this bet was going to be a lot harder than I thought.
Why did the guys have to pick someone so smart?
TAYLOR'S POV
I hate when people pretend to help me. Usually it's a bet, and I know beacause I've been a part of like three so far. I fell for that once and it changed my life forever. I will never get in the car with 'bad boy' Austin Lake. I arrived to school at the same time Austin pulled in. Ignoring him I hurried to my locker.
"Taylor? Why would you think that I'm not trying to help?" Austin came up behind me leaning against the locker next to mine.
"Ha! Why would you help? I'm Taylor the freak who is shy, who apparently is a prostitute, according to rumors, who everyone stays away from." I said with a duh-tone," So unless you want to ruin your pretty boy image, leave."
"Taylor I do want to help. I see you all alone and I feel bad." He said looking me directly in the eyes. His eyes were the most beautiful shade of brown I've ever seen. They had a tint of green behind them. They were so hard to see through.
"EXACTLY! You feel bad! I'm fine, I don't need a shoulder to cry on. I don't need people feeling bad for me. I don't need to be your charity case." I slammed my locker and walked off to class, "So do me a favor, and stay the hell away from me!"
Science dragged on for what seemed like forever. I didn't even know what we were learning about because I was busy thinking about Austin. I can't believe I fell for it! Did he think I was stupid? I hate guys with a very big passion. They think they can just get any girl they want, and they can't! Austin's reputation was even more unappealing than making a bet. He is the school's player as well as 'bad boy'. He's know for breaking hearts, and he doesn't give a care about anyone but himself. My thoughts were interrupted by the bell ringing. I gathered up my stuff and walked out of the class.
Lunch came and passed, and now it was time for English. I really hope we don't have to read poems again. I'll be twice as self-conscious, about Austin...Wait why do I care what he thinks? He's a jerk. Jerk. Jerk. Jerk. I kept repeating it in my head matching it with Austin's face. I walked into English class and saw Austin in the seat next to mine. Ugh! Why couldn't he sit somewhere else? Like outside, in a dessert, 50 million miles away?
"Ok class pull out your homework and pass 1 of the two poems up front." I passed up my color poem and kept my Haiku.
"Taylor, can I borrow one of your poems?" Austin whispered in my ear. I held back a shiver, as his breath warmed my neck.
"No." I said flatly.
"Please? Please?" He begged looking at me with puppy dog eyes.
"The answer remains no, go ask the girl you hooked up with last night" I didn't bothered to look at him as I spoke I kept my eyes on my desk.
"Ouch, that hurts Tay." Tay?
"Don-" I was cut off by the teacher.
"Taylor since you seem so talkative why don't you read first?" She said smiling a devilish smile. I ducked my head and rushed to the front.
"Ummm-ummm this i-is a-a H-aiku." I took a deep breathe and began. Breath the words...
"Dancing in the sun
in an open meadow scene
Where I can just dream." I finished handed in my paper and rushed back to my seat ignoring Austin completely.
"Nice poem, Tay." He whispered in my ear again, letting his breathe linger. The bell rang and I packed up my stuff. I turned and face Austin.
"Leave. Me. Alone." I said harshly and stormed out of the room.
Why does he have to do this to me, I have enough problems as it is, can't he see that? As I leave class I see Vanessa, a.k.a Queen B, glue herself to Austins side.
