Kim and I stopped hugging when my phone rang. I looked around and Leah handed it to me. I rolled my eyes when I saw that it was my mother calling.

"Hey, mom. Can I call you back? We're--"

"Aiyana, listen to me. Get Leah and take her back to Sue's. Seth is there. It--it's Harry, baby. He's had a heart attack and he's...gone. I have to go. I love you. Be safe."

She hung up and my phone dropped to the ground. All the guys looked at each other with panicked faces.

"Leah," my voice broke. "Embry, please take her home. It's important." Embry nodded and stepped toward Leah.

"Wait, Ana, what's going on?" I fell on my butt, the sand moving around me. I began to shake and my breath caught in my throat. No, this couldn't happen right now.

I clutched my chest, everything a blur as people knelt by me, calling my name. I fell on my back and groaned, shaking violently, and my toes curling. Then I blacked out.

My eyes fluttered open and I was staring at the ceiling in my own bedroom. The seizure had left my body weak and tired, as usual. I sat up slowly and I realized I was alone. My bikini was gone and had been replaced, instead, with an oversized T-shirt and shorts.

I pulled my hair into a ponytail and tried to stand up. My knees wobbled and I fell to the hardwood floor, grabbing the corner of the bedside table for support.

"Dammit!" I said, exasperated. "Mom!" I yelled, panicked. I heard footsteps hurrying up the stairs and my door opened, revealing my mom. Her eyes were red and puffy.

She was still in her nurse uniform. She rushed to my side and helped me back into bed.

"Oh, honey. Lay back down. Everyone said you had a bad seizure after I called you." She sniffled and sat next to me.

"Mom, where is Leah? Is Uncle Harry really gone?" She nodded and tears welled in my eyes, and then fell over my face. I jumped up and ran down the stairs even though my knees were shaky.

Rain pounded against the roof. My mom called for me, but I bounded out the front door and the rain fell over my body. I raced through the mud and cold toward Sue's house. I didn't even realize I was on the road until I tripped and fell to my knees.

Then I saw the bright headlights and heard the horn. I was on my butt, my knees raised and the palms of my hands holding me up. I stared into the lights, the tears mixed with the rain on my face. I was drenched and shaking.

"Oh, my God. Ma'am, are you okay?" The voice was familiar but I didn't look at the person. They lifted me in strong, hot arms and then put me in the seat of a car. I closed my eyes for a while until the vehicle stopped.

"Why were you in the middle of the road in the rain?" the man asked. I looked out the window to see that the rain was slowing down.

"Something happened to my uncle. I got sick when I told my cousin what happened and blacked out. I woke up and found out that he...died. So I was going to their house. I need to be there. Where are we? Can you point me to the Clearwater house?"

I turned my head slightly, but my wet hair hid my face and I couldn't see his face.

"Which one? Frank Clearwater or Harry Clearwater?" He didn't sound like he knew about Harry...

"Frank is my father... The other Clearwater house," I whispered, starting to open the door.

"Wait, if he's your father.... Aiyana?" He sounded surprised. I furrowed my eyebrows, then turned around. I couldn't catch my breath and my eyes widened as I looked into his. He had another look in his eyes.

      "Jacob..."
