The Cullen's and Bella were back in Forks after a few days. Leah stayed with me for a week while my parents were traveling to a cancer specialist in another state.

I didn't want to leave my bed again until Saturday morning when I felt a pain in my head, behind my eye. I sat up in bed, doubling over and cupping both hands over my left eye.

"Leah, come here!" I yelled. She hurried up the stairs and grabbed my wrists.

"Ana, let me see." She moved my hands and stared into my eyes. Her eyes widened and she pulled me up.

"Get up and get dressed. I'm taking you to the hospital. Just hurry up." She waved away my questions and jogged out of the room. I jumped and took off my clothes, throwing them in the hamper.

I pulled on a pair of sweatpants, a T-shirt, and tennis shoes. I pulled my hair up high and went downstairs. Leah had my car keys and my purse, standing by the door.

We got to the hospital in Forks and she asked for Dr. Cullen. As we walked down the hall, I whispered to her:

"I'm not seeing some bloodsucker doctor!" She put her finger to her lips and pulled me along. When we got to an office at the end of the hallway, the nurse let us in. A flawless blonde man sat at a desk wearing a lab coat and glasses.

"Hello, girls. How can I help you today?" He looked up, smiling. Then he sniffed the air and chuckled, gesturing for us to close the door. Leah closed it and we sat in the chairs in front of the desk.

"You're a member of the pack," he said matter-of-factly. Leah nodded.

"Yes. But she's not. This is my cousin, Aiyana Clearwater. Her dad has...cancer and he comes here for treatments sometimes. Look, she has violent seizures and asthma.

"We think it's from being so far away from the guy who imprinted on her for so long. About a week ago, the guy drama started again and she had a really bad seizure. She said this morning that her eye was hurting really bad.

"When I looked into her left eye, it was red and messed up. I'm afraid something's wrong." Tears came to Leah's eyes and it was the first time I had seen her like that.

"Okay, okay. Leah, calm down. Follow me. We'll run some tests, but it may take up to five days for the test results to come back. I'll need you to fill out some paper work at the front desk and then we can get started."

///////

The tests were brutal and wore me out. Blood tests, urine tests, they stuck some kind of needle in my eye after numbing it. They ran vision tests and everything.

Several hours later, Leah and I arrived home. I threw my bag on the floor and slumped on to the couch.

"Ana, you're gonna be okay. I promise." Leah sat next to me and I leaned against her shoulder.

I swore not to get out of bed until the test results came in. I lay there for six days not knowing if something was wrong with me. I wasn't going to tell my parents about the tests unless something was wrong.

On the sixth day, the hospital called. The results were in and they wanted me to come there and go straight to Dr. Cullen's office. Leah drove and I was silent the whole way. When I sat down in the office, I could tell something was wrong by the atmosphere.

"Hello, Aiyana and Leah. Aiyana, how are you feeling today?" He asked as he stacked papers on his desk.

"Let's get to the point here, doc. She's fine right? She's fine..." Leah said hurriedly. He took off his glasses and put them on the table.

"Aiyana, I'm very sorry to tell you this... Your tests came back positive. You have retinal blastoma. It's a cancer of the eye. I'm really not sure what could have caused it, though. Sometimes there isn't a specific cause. But the seizures and asthma may have somehow put pressure on that eye. You may have to undergo surgery to remove the right eye. Again, I'm very sorry."
