I had been back in La Push for several weeks and only my parents and Leah knew. I hadn't left the house since I got here. I was too busy taking care of Leah and her cold, wounded heart.

After Sam dumped her last year, she was heartbroken but it got even worse when she informed me about Sam's new relationship a couple months ago. She had gotten over him breaking up with her.

But when he started dating our distant cousin, Emily Young, her heart shattered again. And it could never be repaired. Not only that, but Leah had changed. She had lost weight, and cut her hair. She was quieter and grumpy a lot.

I had changed, too. In a good way, though. My body filled out; I had bigger boobs and a butt. My lips filled out and I was a little taller. I had a new style and a new personality. No more emotional Aiyana Clearwater.

Except when it came to Leah. Sometimes she just lay in my bed and we cried and comforted each other. It was the middle of the school year in tenth grade and I had saved all the money I needed for a car. It was my first day out of the house.

I wore a hoodie, large sunglasses, my hair up, and sweatpants so that no one recognized me. Leah and my mother went with me to Seattle to search for the perfect one.

"And here we have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler, available in four different colors: deep orange, red, black, and white. It gets up to seventeen miles per gallon in the city and twenty-one on the highway. It has a three year warranty program with thirty-six thousand miles basic and a five year warranty program one-hundred thousand mile powertrain. Towing capacity is about two-thousand to thirty-five hundred pounds. That's really good. Let's see... Oh, the engine is a three-point-six L V6. We also have this same vehicle across the lot in years 2010 and 2011."

The salesman finally finished his speech and turned to me, tucking his clipboard under his arm. I was barely listening. I was already in love with it! My mom linked her arm with mine and smiled wide.

"What do you think, sweetie? Sir, how much will it cost us?" She looked sternly at him. He checked his clipboard and smiled.

"It's usually between twenty-two thousand and thirty-eight thousand. But I'll tell you what. If you drive this jeep off the lot today, you can have it for twenty-thousand."

My mom and I looked at each other, then I looked at Leah. They both nodded and I said yes. I drove the red jeep through Seattle behind my mother. Leah sat in the passenger seat, amazed at the interior. I hoped I could manage to keep it nice and clean.

"This thing is great, Ana!" Leah smiled and I had missed that look on her face. She was genuinely happy.

As we got closer to the reservation line, I got nervous. People would definitely see me in this thing. As we passed a few familiar houses, things started to feel like they were moving in slow motion. We neared the Black house and the rain started to pour.

I saw the orange truck in the driveway and I felt sick. Isabella Swan was standing in the drenching downpour. She was yelling at someone... That someone was Jacob Black. God, he had changed. He was tall, muscular, and had short hair.

He looked hot, if I may say so myself. And if I also may say, I was hotter than Bella. As we drove by, before Jake turned away from Bella, he looked at me through the rain and my window. Before he could recognize me, I looked away.

I was shaking by the time we pulled up to my house. I parked and jumped out of the jeep, running inside with Leah on my heels. I ran up to my room and collapsed on the hardwood floor. My body shook and my breath was getting shorter and rapid.

Leah fell on her knees in front of me, calling for my mom. The voices were blurred. I felt something plastic in an L-shape being pushed into my hand. Someone lifted that hand to my lips and I pressed the top button, then inhaled. Asthma is a bitch. And the seizures were even worse.
