-Chapter 20-

Aiden POV

She isn't waking up. Why isn't she waking up?

It was 11:43 pm. Its been a day since Aru fainted and after we rushed her to the hospital, she had a severe shock. Not a 'surprised shock', but a drop in blood flow which I didn't really get but Mini seemed to get it.

Mini, Aru's mom and I have not left Aru's side and Rudy stayed too for me and Mini.

We just stayed there for 10 minutes, it was awkward but none of us could care less cause Aru's life was at stake.

For some reason, the doctor sad she was not in a coma and she'll wake up soon but there has been no movement. The 'think' that it is because she is exhausted. I want to scoff, they are doctors they should be specific, not 'think', who gave them their jobs?

"I-I'll go get dinner, can someone come with me?" Rudy asked. 

Mini and I exchanged a look, where she was questioning and I was pleading. We knew Krithika would not go. Mini sighed and got up. Thank god. 

I refuse to miss anything. I refuse to leave her side. I refuse to-

"You like her, don't you?" Krithika's voice cut my thoughts. 

WHAT DID SHE MUST ASK? HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO ANSWER THAT? Calm down, Aiden. 

"I-It's-I-um-What?" I get out. Great job, Aiden! Stutter in front of your in-law. What the hell? She isn't my in-law! Where did that thought come from? FROM YOUR BRAIN, YOU IDIOT! SHE IS NOT MY IN-LAW! I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF I LIKE HER LIKE THAT. Hell, I love her. Wait, what? I met her like-

"She does too. I think. She talks about you a lot and amongst all this, chaos, shall we say? You seem to be the one thing that lifts her up. Along with Mini and Brynne but that's a different story. I am glad that she likes someone like you. Her previous one was not-um, a pleasant surprise. He was something and was definitely a surprise but it was not a good one." Krithika auntie rambled. She was clearly nervous and scared. I think she wanted a distraction or just a small talk.

My heart fluttered when she told that Aru liked me and dropped when she mentioned a previous love. She liked someone before? Aiden, there was a before, but she likes you now!!! But there was a before. Who was the before? Was it her first love? Is she not over him completely cause he was her first love. And she was my first love-

"I-She's moving. H-Her finger" I get out, looking at her pinky finger with a dazed face.

Holy shit, she's moving!! Krithika auntie ran to call a doctor but I was stuck. Something was wrong, something is wrong. It was nagging me. I walked to her, she was breathing hard. So hard, she had difficulty breathing? God, I didn't know what to do. What the hell?

"Krithika auntie! Sh-She can't breathe!" I shouted. I am panicking. Aru Shah, please be ok. Please.

Krithika was visibly horrified and scared. She was crying and was in pain. So, so much pain. Like me............

WHY ARE THE DOCTORS NOT COMING?

Out of nowhere, Aru sat up from her sleeping position, hyperventilating.

Krithika surged forward, hugged her and cried in relief. I wanted to collapse due to happiness. Aru took a moment to sink in and hug Krithika back, sobbing as well. Why was Aru crying? Lord, what is happening?!?

And right then, Brynne, Nikita and Sheela burst in. Those three were quite the trio when they met with Mini. Aru was pissed, to say the least, when they met up without her but it was during our beach day, at Brynne's beach hotel before Brynne came down to the beach to meet us.

"HOW DARE YOU, AIDEN?!? ARE YOU MAD? SURE DROP THE TWINS AT MY HOUSE AND RUSH ARU TO THE HOSPITAL WITHOUT TELLING ME AND WAIT FOR THE TWINS TO TELL WHAT HAPPENED TO ARU BEFORE-OHHH ARU!!" Brynne said, hugging the shit out of Aru.

"What the hell happened?" Nikita asks, trying to have a straight face but tears roll down her cheeks too and Sheela was full on breaking down.

Then comes Rudy, Mini and Uncle Boo. Yes, I got to know him better and so did Rudy.

"Arundhati Shah, if you ever scare me like that again, I will kill you, especially if you die. How dare you try to die on me?!?" Boo shouts and hugs Aru. I was here first, why is everyone else hugging her?!?

Aru looked as regal as usual, her hair flowing down and not in a braid for once, she didn't change into hospital clothes cause Krithika said that was unnecessary and she looked a bit pale.

Boo got of her and she smiles but it didn't reach her eyes. She still looked........scared?

"I-Hi? Thank you all for your concern but I am fine." She said and tries a smile again but it didn't reach her eyes this time as well. Everyone in the room knew her well enough so she got that 'look' before she sighed.

"Fine, let me hug the twins, Rudy and Aiden first though." She said, throwing her legs to the edge and dangling them to the right side of the bed and opening her arms for the twins who embraced her with joy and she finally smiled with a genuine smile.

Then I hugged her. "You are stalling aren't you?" I say with a smile

"Maybe" She says and hugs my tight for a second then let's go and hugs Rudy.

"Now...........?" Krithika auntie prompts, looking a bit worried and bit her lip, an action Aru reciprocated as well.

Damn, she looked cute when she's biting her lips.......

AIDEN! I scolded myself. Good lord, I have gone mad.

Mad for her - another part of me chimes

I swear to go-

"I-It's..................I am scared." Aru whimpers, and everyone looks like they want to hug her, but we wait. Aru opens her hands to her mom, who hugs her again. They mutter for a minute until Krithika auntie's eyes widen and leaves her embrace.

"We might wanna sit down........I'll get extra chairs." Krithika sighs.

I am so sorry, I have not been updating as usual, I had a lot going on and I was not emotionally stable for a while. The reason was the usual: Books.

I am going to release 3k view special, I wasn't able to release my 2k and I am close to 3k. Once I do reach 3k, I'll sit and have a good cry then set to work. 

I wanted to warn you all: The updates might slow down a bit from now on because I am starting my own book, original idea in another 'place', shall we say?

My writing is not improving and is a bit shitty, I know and I am trying. This is my stress-relief and I promise to do my best.

Ohhh, and if I hit 50 followers, I'll finish the book in one month, two months tops
