Aiden POV

Krithika and Kara go somewhere private to talk while Mini had to go home since her parents called. Brynne went to check on the twins again. So it was just me and Aru.

Aru kept looking at the corner. The one she keeps seeing her dad.

"You know, I think Marvel is better than LOTR" I say, on a whim to distract her.

She turned to me with wide eyes. "What?"

"I do. I mean LOTR isn't bad but Marvel is just better." I add.

"Are you kidding me? I love Marvel but LOTR is just better. You literally named your camera, Shadowfax. Honestly, I was offended it wasn't Gandalf in the beginning but I guess Shadowfax is better for a camera. That's not the point. You thinking anything is better than LOTR than I have no idea why I like you so much." She freezes but regains herself so fast that I'm sure I imagined it.

"You like me sooooo much? Really?? Awwwwww, thanks, Shah. It warms my heart." I say, my heart beating erratically.

I heard Aru mutter "Cocky jerk".

"I heard that."

"You were supposed too."

"Troll."

"Snob."

I grinned while Aru laughed.

"For the record, whatever you did, it worked. I can't see..............him, anymore. Probably cause you saying Marvel is better than LOTR gave me a mini heart-attack." She said, smiling.

"It was my pleasure, Shah."

"To give me a mini heart-attack?" She quirked back. I rolled my eyes.

The Shah I know and love is back.

Kara POV

My mom. She was my mom. My mom was her. Krithika. My mom.

"Kara, I can explain. I promise I never gave up on you. I just couldn't find you, I swear." Mom starts and explains everything. I got sick. Dad gave himself away to save me. Kidnapped me to get my sickness treated. Dropped me with my adoptive mother.

What only Dad, Rohini (my adoptive mom) and I know is I was trained to fight. Made to fight. Born to fight. To ensure I will never, ever be defenseless. That's why he took me to Rohini instead of Mom. So he can watch me and train me without actually being there. To make me stronger.

"Kara. There have been developments.........." Mom goes on again. How Dad is not Dad anymore. Tears fall her eyes.

"So he..........forgot us?" I ask.

"No. He just can't think his own thoughts, own feelings or anything. Its someone else's now." Mom says

"He told you that?" I ask.

"No. I have been studying this for years. It was foretold, you can say."

"Foretold?" I repeat.

"I have a old family friend. We knew each other since we were kids. She became the most famous psychic in the world. Her prophecies always came true. Me and Suyodhana had one. It was not pleasant. So we spent all our free time decoding it. The decoded part never said it would be like this. But it did mention that he can't control himself. Weirdly, the psychic I knew and her husband disappeared leaving their twin daughters. We took them in but......." She trailed off.
