Not The Love You Promised

Sky stared straight into Pai's eyes causing him to look down in utter disappointment. Sky looked around the room and noticed Gun who was just there with him. He wasn't able to contain his laughter but it hurt so he stopped. Gun wanted to give him a hug but restrained himself because the nurse stopped him. Pai left feeling dejected. That was when Payu came out of the room looking really pissed
" You told him to kill himself, are you insane."
" I didn't mean a word of what I said. I just said it without much thought and hurt." Gun came out too side eyeing Pai. " Guys I know I'm undeserving but I really can't live without Sky. He's everything."
" We know he is but winning him back will take a lot of time and you have to do that on your own. You really pushed Sky this time and that says a lot."
Over the course of a week, Pai got off work and ran to the hospital to see Sky. He still wasn't speaking to him but was recovering. Pai would ask Gun to ask him what he wanted to eat, after he's told he would go to the shop and get it. Gun would come out and take the food from him and give it to Sky. Sky knew it was from Pai but he dared not take it from Pai directly as he was still upset. One night after Pai had gone Gun finally asked him.
" Why don't you talk to Pai?"
" Nothing, he just needs to suffer for not believing me."
" But the evidence didn't really look good at the time and he was really hurt and the person who gave the information was reliable."
" I don't care about all of this. He just didn't believe me. It was easy but he chose to not trust me, the man he claimed to love. That's unacceptable Gun. I do love him, but I just don't know."
Pai heard this outside and agreed with everything that Sky said. His mind was made up, he was going to get Sky back. The next day Sky was to get discharged. The doctor said
" He's going to be needing someone to rely on for this first few weeks because it really won't be easy for him."
" Doc, I'll be fine. I got my friends and...
" I'll take care of him doctor." Pai said without skipping a beat.
" Doc I don't think I want him to... I'll be fine on my own." Sky protested
" You're not allowed to bend for another two weeks, you can't bath your back yet, just around it. And you think you can handle this on your own, you definitely need all the help you can get. I'll leave you to deliberate. Sky you are discharged. You're a delight but I hope not to see you again except for check ups."  Sky smiled
" Sure." Immediately she left the room Sky sat down. He was really tired and could understand the place she was coming from but didn't want to bother anyone. The people in the room were Sky, Gun, Payu and Pai.
Payu spoke
" Taytie had promised to leave us alone for now but you can't return home because no one knows you're still alive just us. My place can be checked any time and Gun is being closely monitored so we are both out of the question. And that leaves us with..."
They turned to Pai
" I have a penthouse building that is a really nice place to go to and no one will bother checking there because it is heavily guarded and it just looks like a regular sky rise building. It's not even in my family name."
" How long ago did you get this building P'Pai?" Sky asked him
" Since last year. It's already almost completely occupied. It's the perfect hideaway spot." Gun spoke" good, that's settled then. I'll get Sky's things pretending I want to burn them and take them to you. I'll take everything I can, Sky don't worry, I got you covered. Tell me the address and the key number I'll get the things there by night you guys can move in."
" I'm coming along." Payu said as he held Gun's shoulder playfully to the utter dismay of Sky who was left alone with Pai. He went to sit on the bed. Pai followed too. Sky turned to face the window, Pai raised his hand to Sky's face and turned it to face him. Pai was standing so Sky lifted his head and eyes to look at him. He hadn't looked at Pai in such a long time that he felt his heart skip. He tried to turn but Pai didn't let go.
" I don't think I'll be able to say anything to you for you to forgive me, I nearly lost my mind thinking I'll never see you again. Sky I'm really sorry."
" Pai, you almost broke me, this, this is so fucked up. We can't pick up from where we left off,I can't even look at you the same way."
" Sky, I'm not asking you to love me back or drop off where we stopped. I'm begging you to let me get the opportunity to atone for what I did. It was really messed up."
" You think. Pai, if looks could kill, the look you gave me that day could kill me, murder and mutilate me. That's how scared I was of you. I never wanted to see you again if I survived. I would ignore you and act just the way you said, like you were non-existent."
" Sky punish me, do what you want with me I beg you but like me make it up to you."
" It will take more than all of this for me to forgive you."
Pai nodded. He was going to do everything for Sky.
They stayed quiet till Gun returned in the night.
" It's ready.
Pai gently placed his hand on Sky but Sky took his hand off and faced Gun to help him out. The same thing happened when they got to the house. Sky meant business.
The house was really magnificent and beautiful. It was indeed well furnished. Who was really going to live here? He thought facing Pai who was in front of him. Gun left almost immediately claiming he had something really important to do and left the both of them alone
" Would you like to see your room?"
" Okay." Sky struggled to get up. He held the corner of the chair to show a strong front, when he couldn't, he looked at Pai. No words were needed and Pai came to help. His room was decorated the same was as his house. Same bedsheets which got Sky thinking. It was impossible for all this to be done in a few hours to this accuracy. Pai was up to something, Sky knew his heart was in trouble again. This man might just win him all over again and he won't even know when it happened.
