Who We Are (A Zodiac Story)

POV: Scorpio

"Hello? Are you listening to me?" Cancer asked, looking me dead in the face and snapping me out of my thoughts.

"What?" I asked, annoyed.

"I was talking to you. What are you looking at anyway?" she asks suspiciously. She looks in the direction my eyes just were and rolls her eyes immediately.

"Aquarius? Really?" she questions.

"Yeah, So?" I snap, laughing aloud. Honestly, I didn't get what the big deal was but Cancer had her way of not letting me 'expand my horizons.' She can be so clingy sometimes.

"You must like her or something" she tried to joke, but it appeared more serious than that.

I thought about it for a minute before responding with "I don't know. Maybe."

She looks away from me, shaking her head. "You know she's like super into Aries, right?" she says.

"You know Aries is like super into someone else, right? And relax I was just thinking, and she happened to be in my view." I replied in a nonchalant tone.

"Whatever asshole." Cancer says before walking away. I watch as she heads over to Pisces, whispering in her ear. I never know what her problem is but at this point, I'm used to it. Us water signs have been friends' way before we got sent to the military. Cancer and Pisces have been friends for a much longer time, I just happened to join the duo. But I'm forever grateful to them for lots of reasons.

I continued to watch as Aries lead Aquarius out to the backyard. Guess he's going to break the news to her. I almost feel bad that they're breaking up.

"I hope she'll be okay." Gemini says.

"Same here, this can't be easy for either of them" Capricorn agrees. We begin to hear commotion coming towards the living room. I can't help but roll my eyes knowing exactly who was causing it.

"You should really shut up" Virgo argues.

"If you make me, I'll give you a nickel. I know how much you need it" Leo laughs wickedly.

"Both of you shut up, you're driving me crazy" Libra shouts at them.

"Babe, are you really going to let her talk to me like this?" Leo pouts at Libra and she smiles, kissing him on the cheek. Virgo looks away and takes a seat next to Gemini.

"Hey guys! What's new?" Taurus chimes in with a grin.

"Well since the time you almost blabbed, Aries is talking with Aquarius right now." Sagittarius said.

"Perfect, and once that's over I'll have no trouble getting Aquarius' attention."

"You want to be her rebound Taur?" Cancer asks, rolling her eyes.

"I don't mind at all being a rebound." Taurus said smiling ear to ear. Cancer scoffed at that and Leo let out a laugh.

"Guys shut the fuck up, you're giving me a headache. Taurus, Aquarius is off limits to you." Capricorn said. We were pretty used to his harsh tone. He was often super stressed out from having to deal with all of us. Who can blame him. I'm not sure how he manages.

Taurus pouts in response. "But she's so hot" he says, dramatically falling to the floor. I scoffed. While he wasn't wrong, I didn't like that those words were coming out of his mouth of all people.

I guess there's no reason for that to bother me. Aquarius and I weren't exactly close. But we've had our fair share of interactions. I'm sort of infatuated with her. From what I seen she's pretty badass, smart, and most incredibly, can tell off Capricorn and get away with it. Not to mention she's gorgeous. Despite these facts, I've never tried to pursue anything with her, not after I found out Aries was into her. While me and that douche bag aren't exactly friends either, it just didn't feel right in that moment. But it would've been pointless to pursue anything, as Aries had her heart back then and even now.
Do I even want something with her? I haven't been in an actual relationship in a long time. I hardly knew how to be a good boyfriend either. The sound of a sliding door interrupts my thoughts as Aries comes inside alone.
