The days after the news article had been chaotic. Most people had understood that there was consequences to actions and that Dumbledore had crossed a line that no one should have crossed. Hence why it had been no surprise to all of them when he was removed as Headmaster. Most Houses knew that he needed to go, that he didn't deserve to have his power after all that he had done but some of the Gryffindors did not like that. They did not like that the person that they had been idolising was seen as the bad guy. Dumbledore was the Leader of the Light, not a bad guy that the Rivers tried to make him out to be.
"Why would you do that? He didn't do anything. He's a good man."
Althea rolled her eyes as she tried to finish her essay. It had been the same thing for the past couple of days of the same group of people trying to intimidate her and force her to take back what she and her family had been saying. She didn't really care what they had to say and all she wanted to be left in peace but clearly they had other plans for her.
"I didn't do anything. The truth came out, the consequences aren't on me." She spoke as she continued to read her work. She just wanted them to go away. Kazz was supposed to be joining her soon and her anxiety was slowly building due to the confrontation. She knew there would be consequences to what she and her family had done but she thought she was safe in school with Dumbledore finally gone.
James scoffed as she walked closer to her, wanting nothing more than to take his anger out on her and her family, "He didn't do anything. Dumbledore is a good man, he protected the wizarding world. You and your family are liars. Take it back." Who did she think she was? Everything that was going wrong in their lives was because of her and her family. Marlene was gone, Regulus refused to talk to Sirius, Lily wanted to hang to do with them, Remus had pretty much turned his back on them and now, Dumbledore was gone.
"Touch her and I kill you." A voice spoke up from behind them. They turned around to find Kazz, Jace and Regulus standing behind them. Her boyfriend walked up to stand in front of her. He was not about to let Potter think he had the right to hurt her nor was he going to let him.
Sirius scoffed as he glared at him, "What are you going to do?" He had been struggling with losing his best friend and his little brother, both of whom didn't agree with the way that he had been acting lately, especially with how he had been talking about Althea. They wouldn't put it past time to hurt her, especially with how James had been acting and how angry he was about what was happening.
Kazz got in his face, "I don't know who the hell you think you are but if you lay a hand on her, if you come anywhere near her, I will kill you. You and Potter have put her through enough, I'll be damned if you hurt her again. Stay away from her. She had nothing to do with whatever is happening with Dumbledore." Sometimes he felt like he wasn't doing enough to protect her, especially when it came to people like Black and Potter. He was not about to let either of get away with hurting her again.
James pushed him away from Sirius, "Who do you think you are?" Before Kazz or Jace could do anything a voice interrupted their alternating.
"Mr.Potter, what are you doing?" They all turned to find Professor McGonagall standing there. Lily had gone to find her when she had realised the Marauders were in the library. She wasn't about to let them hurt her friend again and there would finally be consequences to their actions.
"Professor McGonagall?"
She glared at the Marauders, "You four with me now!" Lily had told her about what they had been doing and she had never been more embarrassed. Althea had always been a good student who had been through so much. To find out that her students were tormenting her, she had never been more ashamed and was going to make sure they were punished correctly.
The four followed after Professor McGonagall as James and Sirius glared at Althea. Part of her knew it was not the last time she would see them but she had some pretty good friends, a family that would do anything for her and a boyfriend that would protect her no matter what.
"Are you okay?" Kazz asked as he cupped Althea's face in her hands.
The young witch smiled softly, "I'm okay. You got here before they could do anything. I just don't understand why they're after me. What did I do to them?"
Kazz shook his head as he hugged her close, "You did nothing. They're angry and they need someone to blame. They're angry that the man that they idolised isn't who they thought he was. This had nothing to do with you, it's just easier to blame you than to take responsibility for their actions. Please do not blame yourself." He hated seeing her upset and worrying about other peoples feelings when they didn't care about her.
Althea didn't reply as she hugged her boyfriend tighter. She knew what she and her family did was the right thing to do and the fact they couldn't understand that, was kinda concerning. Right now, all she wanted was to be in Kazz's arms and not have to think about anything.
"Do you want to go back to your dorm?" Jace asked from behind her. Althea just shook her head as she tightened her grip on her boyfriend.
Kazz pressed a kiss to her head, "You want to come back to my dorm?"
"Please."
