Winters POV:

I had been watching this beautiful girl for a while and she was still sitting alone at her table, just looking around, looking at the clock on the wall and sipping her beer. I was sitting at the bar and was about to go over to her, but before I could get up, a guy came in and sat down at her table.

She looked up and spoke in a harsh tone: "Where have you been? I have been waiting..." she said, looking again at the clock on the wall, "for about an hour." She seemed upset and a little bit sad. "Sorry, babe, you know the boys wouldn't let me go earlier from... work," he exhaled before ordering a beer from the pretty blonde barmaid, and both me and the girl in front of him noticed he was looking at the maid's cutout. "Yeah, whatever," she said, looking around in annoyance. "Did you get the present?" The man just looked up with a questioning face. "The present for my mum's birthday next week, Josh!" Josh looked a little embarrassed, but not like he cared.

I could have yelled at him at that point. I mean, it was clear that she was upset with him, but he didn't even regret not buying her mother a present; he didn't even apologise. Then he got up quickly and said something to her that I couldn't hear, but it wasn't nice because she suddenly looked more sad than angry. Then he left the cafe. Now she was alone again and I decided to go over to her.

"May I?" I asked in a polite tone, pointing to the now empty chair in front of her. She looked up again and after a moment of thinking she nodded. "May I ask what he said to you in his last sentence before he left? You seemed so sad after what he said." I tried to start the conversation and looked at her sympathetically. "He broke up with me." Now she cried even more and I immediately felt bad for asking.

"He's an idiot." She chuckled a little and looked at me as she wiped away a few tears. A silence fell between us, but it was a pleasant one. Then she spoke, a smile on her beautiful face. "I'm Y/N by the way." I shook her hand and smiled too. "I am Richard Dick Winters. Nice to meet you."

"Dick!" I heard my nickname as the door to the cafe opened. I looked up at my friend Lewis. "Yeah, hold on Lew, I'm coming," I told my friend before taking out my wallet. "I've got to go, but... this is for the drinks, the idiot didn't pay." I put the money on the table and started to leave, but then I stopped and came back. "Do you have a pencil?" I asked the woman quickly and she looked for one in her bag and handed it to me. I then wrote on one of the napkins and gave it back to her with the pen. Before I left the cafe, I looked back at her and just smiled.

"Who was that, mate?" Nix asked with a grin on his face. "Oh, nobody, just a beautiful woman I met in a cafe." I smiled at him. "What did you write on the napkin?" "A cafe adress and a time, I want to take her out for a picnic," I told him proudly. He just laughed and put his arm around me. "My best friend is in love," he hummed. "Shut up, Nix, it's just a picnic."

"You look great." She really looked amazing in that blue dress with the little flowers on it. "Thank you, you too," Y/N said a little shyly, but smiled too and took my hand.

Nothing much happened during the picnic, we just talked and laughed a lot. It was so good to see this girl laughing and smiling and I hope I can live my whole life with this beauty.
