Jungkook's POV:

I can't marry her.

I have always thought of her as my sister, and all of a sudden I'll have to marry her? Are our lives joke?Marry her,when I don't even have the slightest feelings for her.

Maybe I do.

But that's nothing but just a mere attraction. And she's so young. She just turned 20. I'm a 26 year old man and she's a kid. She must be with someone who's her age. Someone who loves her,not someone like me who has lust and desire for her. We are not for each other.

This marriage,if happens,will do nothing but ruin lives.

We are not compatible for each other.
She's not safe with me.
I can't save her when I'm the actual demon she must be saved from.

"I can't get married to her" I speak up when Y/N was staring at me. Mrs. Kang and Eun Woo drop their gazes at me as well after I declared.

I'm sorry,but I'm not the right one for you,Y/N.

She swallowed a lump in her throat when tears started escaping from her eyes,and she wiped them,thinking no one noticed,but I did.

"Yes. I can't marry him too"She said. Her fingers digged in her palm,she was trying her best to not breakdown.

Why is she even behaving like that?
Maybe because she saw her mother's diary?
Or because she's shocked?
Is it because of my denial?

Such questions roamed in my mind but I had no guts to ask her the reason she was crying because I knew, I'll end up hurting more.

"My kids,I know,this is shocking..but you'll have to." Mrs Kang cupped Y/N's face and looked at my direction with a pleading look.

"Jungkook,think about it,my child. If Dami thought about it,and expressed her wish, it's for you both. She has always thought of you. And,you have to marry someone. That too from the mafia family only. You both know each other very well. This marriage will work out. Y/N, you do feel safe with him,and Jungkook,you know Y/N too. Please give this marriage a chance."

I swallowed hard,looking at the floor with an emotionless face. So much was in my mind. I couldn't understand,why?

Why did you have to do this to me Mrs Cha?

Your daughter is perfect,but I am not. I am not the one she deserves,she deserves better! All she will face would be sadness if she's bonded to me.

"I—i'll think about it.."I let out those only words,I could say to atleast make her normal. Mrs Kang was never forcing,but,now,why?

I couldn't meet her eyes— Y/N's eyes. She was trying hard to suppress her emotions. She could breakdown at any moment.

"I..need some time"I declared again, getting up from there,bowing as I said,"Drop her at my place whenever she wants to. I'll take your leave now." I looked at EunWoo who was sitting beside Mrs Kang,his eyes shoot up in my direction to stare at me but I didn't look into his eyes—his eyes were pleading.

His eyes were begging me to accept this proposal.

I can't believe him!

But then I realised, it's his sister. He's worried about her.

Without a single word I stormed towards the gate,leaving the mansion.
