Naz panicking. The four could see it clearly because of her messed up hijab. Obviously, the four got confused. Plus, there was no one sitting in the passenger seat. This could mean one thing, BAD NEWS about....
"Nin is in jail," Naz shouted over the engine's roar, her hijab askew and her face flushed.
The four stared at her, stunned. "What?!" they exclaimed in unison.
"Yeah, apparently, she got into a fight over an ice cream," Naz explained, her tone a mix of disbelief and frustration.
"Are you serious?" Che asked, her eyes wide. "Over ice cream? What happened?"
Naz sighed, trying to gather her thoughts. "She was at the mall, and someone cut in line at the ice cream stand. Nin, being Nin, couldn't let it slide. There was shouting, pushing, and before you know it, she ended up in a brawl. The police got involved, and now she's in the slammer."
"Unbelievable," Sye muttered, shaking her head. "Alright, let's get to the station. We need to bail her out before she decides to start a riot."
---
What really happened at the ice cream shop...
Nin, of all people, had decided to indulge in something as harmless as getting ice cream.
She was standing in line at her favorite ice cream parlor, eyeing the menu with an uncharacteristic look of contentment. She had her mind set on the last scoop of her favorite flavor—mint chocolate chip. But as she reached the counter, another hand shot out, pointing to the exact same flavor."I'll take that last scoop of mint chocochip," a man said, his tone smug as if he had already won some unspoken contest.
Nin's eyes narrowed, her temper flaring instantly. "I don't think so, buddy. I was here first."
The man, clearly oblivious to who he was dealing with, scoffed. "You've got to be kidding. I was about to order before you barged in."
"I didn't barge in," Nin snapped, stepping closer. "But I will if you don't back off."
The ice cream parlor grew quiet as the tension between them escalated. Customers and staff alike could sense that things were about to go south...fast.
The man, now equally irritated, crossed his arms. "What are you going to do? Fight me over ice cream?"
Nin's expression turned deadly serious. "If that's what it takes."
And that's how a simple trip to the ice cream parlor turned into a full-blown altercation. Words were exchanged, followed by shoving, and before anyone could stop it, the two of them were wrestling on the floor, causing a commotion that sent everyone else scrambling for the exit.
By the time the police arrived, ice cream was splattered everywhere, the counter was overturned, and Nin had the guy in a headlock. The officers quickly separated them, though it took three of them to pull Nin off.
One of the officers, clearly not in the mood for this kind of nonsense, sighed. "Alright, break it up. Both of you are coming with us."
Nin, still fuming, didn't resist. "He started it."
"Did not!" the man retorted, nursing a bruised arm.
"Tell it to the judge," the officer muttered, cuffing them both.
---
They quickly get into Naz's car and rushed to the police station. The tension in the car rises as some of them were concealed. "Chill guys, she's probably sleeping in the cell," Liza said trying to lighten up the mood.
---
Well, it's true, at the police station, Nin sat in a cell, arms crossed and leaning back with her eyes closed. Though, she was still thinking about how the other guy deserved it. When the door to the holding area opened, her friends walked in.
The officer at the desk barely glanced up. "You here for the ice cream brawler?"
Naz tried to stifle her laughter as she stepped forward. "Yeah, that's our friend. Can we bail her out?"
The officer handed over the paperwork. "Lucky for her, the other guy isn't pressing charges. He's too embarrassed to admit he got into a fight over ice cream."
As soon as the door to her cell opened, Nin stormed out, still grumbling. "Took you guys long enough."
Irr slung an arm around Nin's shoulders, grinning from ear to ear. "You know, this might be a new low, even for you. Fighting over ice cream? What were you thinking?"
Nin shrugged, though her scowl softened slightly. "He was asking for it."
Che shook her head, smirking. "Next time, try to avoid getting arrested over something so... trivial. We've got a reputation to maintain, you know."
Nin rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Let's just get out of here."
As they walked out of the station, Liza couldn't resist one last jab. "So, what flavor was it, anyway?"
Nin shot her a look. "Mint chocolate chip. And it was worth it."
The group burst into laughter, the tension from earlier melting away. Even Nin couldn't help but crack a smile, despite her bruised ego.
"Next time," Sye said with a grin, "try to keep the drama to a minimum. We have enough excitement without adding jail time over dessert."
Nin chuckled, nodding. "Oke kak. I promise I'll try to keep my cool."The group headed back to the car, their spirits lifted by Nin's return. Despite the morning's unexpected chaos, they were ready to continue their adventure.
