Dear Readers,
Okay, so it's me, Bats. I'm back. Alright, so obviously updates on this story have slowed considerably since the first chapter was written, way back in August 2020, right in the middle of the Pandemic. Between then and March 5, 2024, only 15 chapters have been completed and posted, as opposed to my newest story After Time, in which I've nearly finished eighteen chapters in a quarter of the time, and the now-completed Speed Demons, which has Thirty-Three total parts.
The reason for the slow schedule is that, quite frankly, this story is hard as shit to write. Due to the main character being blind, the entire story needs to be written in the third person, which I hate doing. It's harder, it takes longer, and characters need to be addressed in multiple ways, otherwise, it gets repetitive.
The second reason is that the amount of attention that this story receives over the others makes me feel pressured to write it more. I don't want that. I want to be able to write what I want, when I want, without feeling like I should be doing something else. While working on After Time, I continuously get thoughts like "This story doesn't do well, you should write Blind Son of Lupa instead".
I've decided not to let it continue. I am not going to work on or update this story anymore. Its popularity is becoming hard on my mental health, and I'm stopping it before it becomes a bigger problem.
I am aware that some of you won't like it. That's fine. I don't care. You're not a captive audience. All of you can read what you want, and I encourage you to write what you want, as well.
To prove that, this story is being put up for adoption. If you love this story, and you don't want it to end, shoot me a PM. I'm more than willing to put it in someone else's hands.
However, that doesn't mean I don't want to keep you posted. My current plan is to Work on After Time until the Titan War is finished(Maybe one more Chapter?) and then begin work on my next work.
What is the next work, you ask? Well, I'm actually pretty exited about it. I think it's pretty different from anything you've seen before, and now I'll tell you a few things I'm going to do.
1. The story will not take place in the typical RiordanVerse setting, but rather one of my own creation.
2. While the characters will remain demigods, the setting will not distinguish between Greek and Roman. This is so that I do not hove to sepparate the characters, or lock half of them behind a reveal of some sort.
3. Many characters will play narrative roles which are vastly different from the origional material. For example, Nico and Thalia will be the leaders of two oppsing factions
4. The two main Protaganists will be Percy Jackson and Jason Grace
5. The book will be titled 'Because They Were Broken'. Who is They? I don't know, you'll have to find out
I hope that's enough to intrigue you all, I'm very excited to work on this story.
