Prompt:
I never thought I'd feel this way. Never expected to fall for the last person I expected. And yet, here we are.
Huddling under the trees as the rain pours down around us, they look adorable with their wet hair plastered against their scalp. Intense love burns deep in my gut, threatening to spill out. I want to confess. Tell them how I feel, but I'm not sure how.
Shifting uncomfortably from one foot to the other, I rake a hand through my damp hair before meeting their gaze. With nerves aflutter, I open my mouth to speak -

but close it again. I search my pockets and find the paper plane, I kept there like a lucky charm these past few months. I pluck up my courage a second time and confess: "The day this paper plane landed on my table - it changed my life. The poem hidden inside touched my heart, as does the author of those beautiful lines." I take a deep breath and a step closer.
"Even though we are so different - I felt we vibed, and was instantly curious about you. You, with your amazing sense of style, your empathy and kindness. Your infectious humor. Day for day, you show me new facets ...that I couldn't help but fall in love with. In love with a strong person who fights through hard times, communicates doubts and fears, but also needs and wishes. You light up my life."
I chuckle. "Hell, my family loves you so much, too. What I mean to say is ... I can't imagine a life without you in it. And if you want to spend the rest of your days with me - I would be over the moon."
A clear, doubtless "Yes" makes me the happiest person alive.
