Dear Annie,
I don't have enough words to express how much I love you. And how much it tears me apart. We used to play at this river without a worry in the world. How quickly times have changed. We grew up, and now you're an even more beautiful, witty, and kind woman, and I'm even more in awe of you.
It broke my heart when I learned that you had chosen another. Before I had the courage to make my case. I shouldn't have let insecurities hold me back in confessing what I have been feeling for years.
I can see that he makes you happy, and while that is reassuring, it is also devastating.
I hope this message will end up far away and take all my feelings with it. This is a goodbye and a hello.
Goodbye to old feelings of love and regret and a start to forgive myself and learn how to love again.
