-"I slept like a log. The girls slept for a really long time."
- "and did you have a good evening?"
- "Yes, but you're the one who should... Oh, my God, baby! I'm sorry, don't tell me I fell asleep?!"
- "I don't know... Does it feel like we made love?"
- "baby, let me make it up to you" Carina replied, pushing Maya to lie on her back and coming to rest on top of her.
She had lowered herself onto her to come and kiss her, and the girls had woken up before their lips had even touched.
- "no, no, no"
- "they slept for so long they must be so hungry"
- "I'm super hungry and you're super naked"
-"tonight, I promise tonight I'll make it up to you".
Today was Maya's first week as Battalion Chief. It was her birthday, and although she'd wanted to spend the day with her wife and daughters, she'd had to work.
Every night they had tried to make love, and every night Carina had fallen asleep from exhaustion as they kissed. Sometimes she even fell asleep before her wife came into the room.
They hadn't made love that weekend either, as the blonde's birthday was on Monday, so they'd had her birthday with friends on Saturday and with her family on Sunday just before; on both evenings, the Italian had been far too tired once again.
The blonde had stopped by Station 19 to congratulate the new captain of her old barracks.
She had arrived upstairs and there was a large «happy birthday» banner and another with «congratulations to the new captain».
She'd gone inside and seen Jordan running out of the TV room, into the Beanery and Jack chasing after her.
- "uh... Didn't I see my daughter running across in front of me?" the blonde asked, as the place was quiet as a church.
-"oh come on the surprise is ruined !" She had heard this in the most beautiful accent in the world.
-"I'm sorry, it's my fault" said Jack as he stooped to hug Jordan, who had ducked behind the kitchen island.
Carina had come out of the TV room with some of the A-team firefighters.
- "happy birthday!"
- "thank you... In my memories I also had two little blond girls."
- "here they are!" Said Andy who was behind the group, with Vittoria in her arms. Travis had Giulietta.
-"Congratulations, Captain!" Said Maya.
- "thank you Maya" the blonde cleared her throat.
- "thank you Battalion Chief Bishop"
Carina cleared her throat.
"Thank you Battalion Chief DeLuca-Bishop."
- "thank you Captain Gibson... Arf... Doesn't sound as good as Captain Herrera, though..." Maya replied.
-"Just because you were used to Andy's father... We had a hard time getting used to «Captain Bishop"?» too" replied Jack.
- "Speak for yourself" replied the Italian.
She had approached her wife and put her hands around her shoulders.
"Happy birthday again my love" whispered the brunette against her wife's lips.
-"Do you know what would make this day even more special?" Replied the blonde against her lips.
