Xiumin's POV

At first, Irene was starting to be her own self. Well, not exactly. But she started to eat and talk.

But suddenly, she became silent again. No, mad. She was mad. I brought her porridge and got frustrated.

"Aish," I said. "Irene, can't you at least appreciate my hard work? I've been working hard to make you eat, and now you're declining it?! You're so heartless!"

"Funny story," said Irene. "You just said I'm heartless, right? Do you even know who made me like this? It was you! You stole my heart and threw it on the ground! That's why I'm heartless! I have no heart because you took it, Xiumin!"

I was surprised by that. That also meant that.. to her, I still had her heart. Her heart was still mine. She still loved me.

"I'm sorry." I hugged her. "I'm so, so sorry. I didn't know how you felt. I've always thought about myself, and never really thought about how'd you feel."

She cried on my chest. I put my chin om her head. Then, Yeri entered.

"Er," said Yeri. "Sorry if I'm bothering anything, but Jin's condition is worsening. So.."

Yeri backed out and ran. Irene was shocked for a moment. Then, tears started streaming down her face again, but her facial expression didn't change.

Irene's POV

Maybe it was cowardly and stupid, but I decided to kill myself. Jin wasn't the one I loved, but there was no reason to live anymore if Jin isn't there to brighten my life. I jumped from the rooftop.

But someone pulled my hand.

I looked up and saw Jin. His throat was covered by a bandage. Thank God he was okay.

"Yah," said Jin. "I know what you're doing, and why you're doing it. But I'm okay. Okay, honestly, I don't know why you're doing it."

"Let me go," I said. "I can survive even without your help."

I was embarrassed that he was still alive, so I just said that. Jin pulled me up higher even though I said him to let go—cause there was a cushy thing that the police put down.

"I won't," said Jin. "I know I don't have quite the strength right now, but I won't let you go. Remember my words? I'll never let you go."

I lost my grip to Jin's hand and fell down. Well, I landed on the cushy thingy, so I was safe.

When I was inside again, I received tons and tons of nagging from Seulgi and Wendy. Though, Xiumin just cared for me from far away.

"Yeri," I said. "I thought Jin's condition was getting worse, so I tried to kill myself. You said it, didn't you?"

"Did I?" Yeri said, not taking her eyes off her iPad. "Sorry. I meant to say 'better', but Yi An and Eun Bi's relationship is getting worse. So, I accidentally said that. Sorry."

Since my ward was big, they all brought their own pillows and slept on the floor.

During midnight, I got thirsty so I went to the vending machine to buy something, but turned around since it was all coffee.

"Irene." Jin walked closer, wearing a scary face. "I'm kinda mad with you right now. Why the heck would you want to hug Xiumin? I thought I'm the love of your life? Maybe being friends with Jackson wasn't as bad."

I didn't know what he meant by Jackson, but I was saved by a running Wendy.

"Irene," said Wendy. "Well, you know how I'm clumsy and always forgetful, right? Well, this 'accident' isn't really an accident. But a CCTV caught Jackson cutting the safety rope and Lee Teuk confirmed that the brakes were cut."

That moment, Wendy drove to Eric's house, under my command. When we arrived, I kicked down the door. Without thinking, I pulled out my gun.

But then, I saw Xiumin tied to a chair, bleeding and unconscious.
