"You can't leave like this. Not when there's so much left unsaid," he implored. She turned to face him; her fur glowed faintly under the dying sun's last rays. "I have to, Sparrow. It's for the best," she whispered. Her words were like a fragile barrier barely holding back a flood of emotion.

"No, it's not. Tell me what's truly weighing you down. You've been acting strange and I can't let you walk away without understanding," his voice instilled with divination that cut through her defenses. Tears welled up in her eyes, shimmering like liquid moonlight.

With each drop that fell, a piece of her facade crumbled, revealing the raw vulnerability beneath her.

"The way you look at Rosalie, the way your heart belongs to her, I can't bear to be a burden on your happiness. So, I must go", she sighed. Her confession hung in the air, heavy with unspoken truths and shattered dreams. He stood rooted to the spot, his mind reeling from the revelation.

The pieces of the puzzle slowly clicked into place, illuminating the shadows that had clouded his mind. With a heavy heart, he reached out to her enveloping her with his wings in a gentle embrace filled compassion.

"Sparrow, let go!", she cried in desperation as she tried to escape, but he held on, refusing to let her slip away.

His muzzle leaned close to her ear, "Is that why you were acting this way?"

Her body stopped moving, stunned by his question. "I only wanted you two to be happy together", her voice trembled. Tears poured from her deep blue eyes, landing on the ground.

"I'm sorry." Her words were a lament with shattered dreams and untold desires. He held her close with his wings as she wept, shielding her against the storm of emotions that raged within her.

The bond that was shared, was woven of unrequited love, silent sacrifices, and silent truths, holding them together in that moment of vulnerability. A small spark ignited within him, fueled for the one who had risked everything for the sake of others' happiness.

But what she didn't know was that he didn't have feelings for Rose, only a deep profound brotherly bond. He gazed into her glistening eyes, while her tears continued to flow like heavy streams.

His mouth curved into a small smile that held a tinge of bittersweetness. "Thank you, Aqua," he whispered, his voice was gentle in the stillness of the night.

"For what?" she sniffed. Her eyes searched to uncover the answers.

"For not only putting your duty as a member of the pack, but above all else, you sacrificed your own emotions and saved me from the imperial doom. You're not a burden to me or to anyone, but someone I admire. For bravery, loyalty, and humbleness," he confessed, his words were sincere and he leaned against her small muzzle, closing the physical distance between them while the emotional chasm widened.

As much as she wanted the moment to last for a moment longer, she couldn't help but to take the chance, and break contact. "I think it's best if it stayed this way, for your sake, Sparrow", she mumbled as her gaze carried sorrow. Without letting him say another word she made her way back.

He found himself deep in contemplation, pondering the words that she imparted to him. His mind was filled with conflicting emotions; he needed to clear this up. As he ventured back, Rosalie noticed his return and greeted him with a warm smile.

Ignoring the distractions around him, Sparrow guided Rosalie to a secluded spot where they could speak freely.

"Rosalie..." His voice wavered, unsure of where to begin. She cocked her head, sensing the weight behind his words.

"Yes? What is it, Sparrow?", she asked

"Tell me. Is it true what you said?", his eyes locked her baby blue eyes with him, making her heart pound against her chest.

"The white buds you mentioned. Did you mean something else?", his tone was in confusion.

"Yes... it's true. I do love you, Sparrow. Ever since that day that I met you, I knew it was meant to be. I wish to start our new journey as mates and maybe, someday start a family of our own", she confessed, leaving him silent as he looked down onto the ground.

Sparrow stood there, processing her words while his heart raced, unsure of what to say. The wind whispered, carrying the weight of her confession. "Don't you feel the same way about me?" she inquired, curious of what his answer would be.

"Rose," he lifted his head to look at her. "Thank you for telling me how you felt. I think it's wonderful that you have such feelings for me, however, I don't see you as my mate. I do love you but you're more like a sister to me."

Gazing downward, he hoped that he didn't hurt her feelings. Suddenly, he felt a gentle touch and a soft nuzzle. "It's alright, don't feel bad. I understand," she whispered. They both exchanged glances and warm smiles.

As he walked away, her eyes gleamed with unshed tears, but she composed herself with grace. She had borne her heart, and though the answer wasn't what she desired, his honesty meant everything to her.

But, her emotions overwhelmed her causing her to collapse, while quiet the streams began to fall. Lost in her sorrow, a pair of gentle eyes caressed her frame. When she looked up, she was surprised to find Sage in front of her, watching her weep. Without a word, he offered solace, standing with her as she continued to sob quietly.
