No matter how many times he had the nightmare, Han tried to push it aside. Constantly watching Brooklyn fall was the last thing he wanted to see when he closed his eyes.
Right now, Han was working on a car he recently purchased. He was in the middle of modifying it. Han was still waiting for a few parts to be delivered, but it wouldn't hurt to get a head start on the projects. He had three more cars arriving in the morning and as of tomorrow afternoon, Han would officially be open for business. Han was waiting until everything arrived before having a grand opening for his friends and everyone at the club.
Having a club attached to the garage was a nice touch, Han was never alone at night. There were people still hanging around upstairs, sitting at the tables that Han set up. He heard the low chatter between the pairs who were enjoying the peace and quiet. Han checked the time, seeing that it was almost 3 in the morning.
It looked like Han was pulling an all-nighter himself.
Han had the car above his head, light tilted upward to make sure he knew what he was working on. While Han was working, Brooklyn wouldn't leave his mind. That nightmare really fucked with him, and there was nothing he could do about it. Brooklyn was always going to be on his mind – they made plans, Tokyo was supposed to be the place where they settled down. But there was someone else on his mind... and he didn't know what to do about it.
"Han,"
Speak of the devil herself.
Han turned, watching Bishop as she entered the garage late that night. She looked like she was lost in her own mind as well. The bags under her eyes suggested that she hadn't been sleeping well the past few days. "I couldn't sleep." Like Han, Bishop was having nightmares – and it was the same thing over and over and over again. Bishop did call Nori, but he was fast asleep, and Bishop knew she had a morning appointment with him at 10:30. But Bishop couldn't sleep now.
Han walked over to the railing, leaning his arms against it. "You and me both." Han said. He gestured his head, "Come on up." It wasn't an unusual thing for Bishop to just show up to the garage. Han trusted her enough to give her a spare key to the place whenever she felt like this. Han never pressured her to find out what happened to make her feel the way she was. That was her business.
Maybe one day Bishop would tell him.
And usually, Bishop and Han would sleep together in order to actually fall asleep. It was a habit at this point, and Bishop had only been in his life for four months now. Han felt himself growing attached to her, which made him nervous. Bishop didn't need to get dragged into his mess of a life. She was just someone to mess around with until Han figured himself out. But every time Han tried to distance himself from Bishop, he always seemed more interested in her as a person.
