ch.23

The night air was thick with anticipation as Olivia and Iris pulled up to Olivia's childhood home in Temecula. The familiar sight of the quaint house brought a mix of emotions flooding back to Olivia's mind. She took a deep breath, steadying herself for the conversation she was about to have with her parents.

Iris reached over and gave Olivia's hand a reassuring squeeze before they both stepped out of the car. The porch light flickered on as they approached, and Olivia's heart raced with
nerves.

As they entered the house, the warmth and familiar scent enveloped them, but Olivia couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered in her stomach. She knew this conversation would change everything, but she also knew it was necessary for her own peace of mind.

Olivia: Mom? Dad? you home?
*called out though the house*

Her parents emerged from the living room, their faces lighting up with surprise and joy at the sight of Olivia and Iris standing in the doorway.

mom: Olivia, sweetheart, what a wonderful surprise! and iris! hi you guyssss

* rushed over to envelop her daughter in a tight hug*

dad: We weren't expecting you tonight," *hint of confusion in his voice*

Olivia took a deep breath, steeling herself for what she was about to say

olivia: yeahh i know it's unexpected i just..... I actually need to talk to you both about something important

Her parents exchanged a concerned glance before leading Olivia and Iris to the living room, where they all took a seat.

Mom: what happened? what did you do?!?
Iris: nothing crazy no one's died guys *iris threw her hands in the air everyone letting out chuckles lightening the mood*

mom: well What's on your mind, sweetheart? you you had to come all them way here?

*her mom asked, her expression filled with concern*

Olivia glanced at Iris, who offered her a supportive nod

olivia: actually can we sit down ?
dad: of course are you guys thirsty can i offer you anything to drink?
olivia: water please dad thankyou
dad: iris?...
iris: water as well thankyou
dad: sure thing

olivia's mom led them to the living groom as they sat in comfortable silence until olivia's dad came back with water for the girls then joined his wife on the couch

Olivia: so I...I've been keeping something from you both, something that I've only recently come to terms with myself actually

Her parents listened intently
as Olivia began explained her journey of self-discovery, her feelings for Jordyn, and the unexpected turn of events that had thrust her personal life into the spotlight

olivia: so i met this person, we started to hang out and such but nothing serious, until i realized i began to really really like like this person as more than friends
mom: okk
olivia: this persons a girl.... i know ive never even thought about dating girls it just happened so organically actually but i know this might come as a surprise, but I just wanted to be honest with you both, because i haven't told you guys and well it may have been  leaked on the internet *Olivia concluded, her voice trembling slightly*
