Paintbrush POV
I woke up to the sound of loud dramatic sighing. I slowly opened my eyes and immediately shut them from the harsh light hitting my face."Wh- uh-" "Oh, hey Painty." I heard Lightbulb say over dramatically. I moved the flashlight from my face and grumbled at her.
"What are you doing?" "Sigh, nothing." "Did you just say 'sigh' out loud?" Lightbulb put her flashlight next to Baxter on her desk and groaned.
"Are you seriously not gonna ask me what's wrong?" "I don't associate with theater kids." Lightbulb looked at me deadpanned. "You are a theater kid. And an art kid! You're a double loser!"
Lightbulb put her legs on top of mine and leaned against the edge of her bed. "Fine, what's wrong, Lighty?" She grinned and pulled out her phone and showed it to me.
"It's Friday and even though the power is fucking out, they want us to go to classes today." "WHAT??"
I took Lightbulb's phone out of her hand and looked at the email:
'Dear students of Objectifed Valley University,
We had a power outage yesterday, Thursday on September 7th, 2023, due to this, the power will be out until Monday on the 11th.
We still expect you to attend your classes you have assigned for Fridays.
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by this storm but it is still important to make sure you all go to your classes.
Lights have been installed in every classroom for today so it will not be pitch black.
Thank you and have a great day!
- Objectifed Valley University Staff'"You've got to be kidding me!" I said, hitting my forehead. "I have music today. I'm not readyyyy." Lightbulb whined as she readjusted herself onto my shoulder.
I felt my face heat up as I coughed and glanced away. "Uh- Y-You take music?" "Yeah, every Friday. I hate itttt! Music teachers always make me play trash stuff."
"Have you ever considered that maybe that's just not your type of music genre?" "Nope. It's just ass for everyone." I rolled my eyes playfully and stood up.
I took out my phone and checked the time. "It's 10:43 right now, when are your classes?" "I haaaave music at 1:45 and WE have theater at 3:30."
"Ugggghhhh. I'm not mentally ready to act today. And my hair's a mess." I messed with my headband and moved my hands through my hair.
"Eh, it's not as bad as mine!" "Yeah that's true." "Wowww. You're so mean." Lightbulb said, sticking her tongue out at me.
"You said it was bad!" "Only I can say bad stuff about myself!" I sighed, and face palmed. "Hmmm, maybe I could do your hair today!"
