Back at the castle, we had to take part in a quiz about our visit to the museum today. It took a whole 2.5 hours. Afterwards we were allowed to go to our rooms and stay awake until 10.00 pm, when Berger arrived on time to tell us that we should go to bed because we had to go hiking the next day. However, we stayed awake for another hour in the boys room and talked. Later we returned to our own room.

When Finny and Yemaya were asleep at half past twelve at night, I quietly opened the window and slipped outside without making a sound.

I fly to the castle gate, where Kaya is already waiting for me. Together we fly to the wooden cottage. We talk a lot on the way.

"What have you been up to for the last year? You haven't shown your face." I asked Kaya, as he had been travelling around a bit last year.

"Last year was really cool. First I was in France for 3 months. Then 5 months in England, 2 months in Scotland and the last 2 months in Spain. That was so cool." (Kaya)

"Cool, that sounds very entertaining." (Me)

"Well, life as a vampire is a lot easier, I have to admit," he said.

"You're right about that though. Where is this cottage now?" (Me)

"Only half a kilometre away. Are there even any other vampires here?" (Kaya)

"Yes, someone approached me from a dark side alley after the museum visit today. He said that the two deers were fine, but that we shouldn't take any more. He seemed pretty trustworthy." (Me)

"Ok, I was worried that I might have got us into trouble." (Kaya)

"Don't worry, I've already sorted it out." (Me)

Then we're already at the cottage and I can smell the delicious deer's blood. Kay opens the door for me and plays gentleman again.

We don't talk any more, but rush straight for the two little deers.

After 15 minutes, the deers were drained of blood and Kaya and I were full. We chat for a while until I remember that I should fly back. By now it was already 1.30am. Kaya accompanied me on the way to the castle and we had a little race. When we got there, I got a huge shock.

The window in my room was wide open and the light was on. Immediately afterwards, I heard the voices of Finny, Yemaya, Nic and Toni. Shit! Kaya looks at me from the side and asks if he should distract them. I decline and look to see if there's an open window somewhere in the corridor. Unfortunately for me, none were open.

Now I just have to get through the window somehow without the others noticing. I fly slowly and quietly closer. I hold on to the window frame and dash in and under my blanket as fast as I can. Unfortunately, I didn't go as undetected as I had hoped.

I can already hear Toni shouting: "Dude, Max, where did you come from all of a sudden! We were already really worried!"

The others also realised from Anton's call that I was back.

"Maximilia! Where the hell have you been?" Yemaya now asked.

"I thought you'd jumped out of the window! Please tell me where you were!" demanded Finny.Nic just looks at me, he remains silent. I know what that means, he's analysing me, like he always does when he's worried about someone.

I slowly turn to my friends, look at them and quickly try to think of an excuse when they all cry out.

"Why is there blood on your mouth?" (Finny)

"What the hell is that?" (Yemaya)

"What have you done?" (Toni)

Now Nic looks worried and comes closer. Only now does he begin to speak, calmly and distantly: "Please tell us where you were, what you did and why the hell you have blood on your mouth."I realise that any excuse or lie would be exposed immediately. I think it's time to tell them the truth.
