Aftermath (𝚎𝚍𝚍𝚜𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚕𝚍 𝙴𝚍𝚍 𝚡 𝚃𝚘𝚛𝚍)

Red, Edd, and the Army

Note: Sorry in advance for this hella long chapter

Time skip: two weeks later.

Tord was thinking a lot lately. He was about ready to head back to his army, and to have Paul and Patryck pick him up from Edd's. Though, he was a bit at war with himself. He didn't truly want to leave Edd again. Their relationship had healed slightly over the past few weeks. Edd seemed more okay with Tord taking over the world after talking about it a few times over meals and nightly walks through the park. Tord was glad about this, since this meant he possibly didn't have to kill Edd before he left. 

Tord had messaged Patryck to come pick him up later that night so hey could get back to his office, so he was already in an okay mood to get back to bossing people around. He had to tell Edd he was leaving, but he also had a few other things to tell him before that. Tord knocks on Edd's door and waits for him to respond. 

"Come in, Tord."

Tord opens the door and hesitates. "Edd, I'm feeling a lot better lately. Physically, I mean. I think I'm ready to get back to the Red Army. But.. there are a few important things I need to tell you first."

Edd nods slowly, unsure where this is going. He just thought that Tord would leave and be done with it. But it doesn't seem to be that way at the moment.

"I can't leave you here knowing as much as you do. Matt is coming with me to join the army since he said he wanted to, but now that you know about us, it puts your life and my own at risk. I don't particularly like the idea of leaving you here with all this information, in case someone questions you and you cave. Now.. Normally in a situation like this, I'd have to kill the person who knows too much-"

"You're going to kill me?!"

"Nono! Edd i don't want to kill you, so I was going to make you an offer.. We have been friends for a while, technically, and I think i can trust you. Would you like a chance to join my army."

Edd stares at Tord in the faint light of his dim bedroom. Was he serious? Edd? Joining the Red Army? He couldn't be! Edd cant do something like that! It's too much. He isn't built for something like this. He learned his lesson after they all tried to join the army years ago. But here Tord was; offering a position in the army.

"What? Tord, you're not serious, right? Me? Joining you? I don't know if I can do somethin like that! And since when was Matt going with you! Does Tom know? I have a life here, Tord!"

"I-I know Edd, but I don't know if I can let myself leave you again. Especially not with the possibility of me needing to kill you.. and Matt agreed to this two weeks ago when I asked him. Tom doesn't know, and he wont know."

Right. Edd can't know about this, but he forced the info out of Tord. So, it was join the Red Army and go with Tord, leaving Tom behind, or get killed by Tord. He didn't have many options here. He groans in annoyance at Tord for cornering him like this.

"And.. What kind of things would I do in your army?"

"Well, that depends. You could work your way up the ranks and fight on the frontlines alongside me and my comrades, you could become my advisor and help me make certain decisions and help me around the base, you could.. try for being something higher than that. Or lower, i don't particularly care. But i think you could be useful, Edd. You're.. different."

"Different how-?" Edd wasn't sure if this was a good thing or a bad thing. He looked a little concerned, which made Tord laugh softly.

"Don't worry. I just mean- I've known you for a while, and I've noticed oddities about you. You attract a lot of attention, but never seem to have drastic consequences. I think that might be helpful."
