Aftermath (𝚎𝚍𝚍𝚜𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚕𝚍 𝙴𝚍𝚍 𝚡 𝚃𝚘𝚛𝚍)

Confessions

He quickly puts it down with an annoyed thud. "Fine! It's- Okay. Edd, i need you to promise me that you wont get mad, and that you wont kick me out because of this."

Edd hesitates, but nods his head slowly. what could possibly be so bad that Edd would kick him out? It's not like he was planning to kill them, again, right? Edd hopes not, because that would make him feel really bad.

Tord takes in a breath through his nose. "I'm- you could say that I'm working with the government."

Edd stares at him for a second, registering this. "The government? Oh! so you're like part of the FBI now??"

"What-? No! No, It's more like I'm working with the army."

"The army? Why?"

"I-.." Tord sighs, hanging his head. He doesn't have any good way to lie about this, so he'll have to just tell Edd about the Red Army. "It's not like that. Its more like.. I've created my own army, and I'm a war general."

Edd pauses. This was not at all what he was expecting to hear from Tord. He mostly just thought Tord had some super cool job that he wanted to keep a surprise for Edd. Of course, that was naïve of him to think that. Edd vaguely remembers Tord mentioning something about world domination a few years ago when they still lived together normally. 

"Oh no- Tord this can't be what i think it is!"

"Edd wait, just listen-"

Edd cuts Tord off. "Tord,  you can't take over the world! That's too much, even for me! Is that what you're friends work? Are they actually just members of your army?? Tord, why?!"

"Yes- and It's for my own reasons! I'm telling you what I'm allowed to, but there are things that you can't understand yet. unless.."

"Tord!! You cant be- argh! I'm.. I'm going for a walk. We'll.. talk about this more when I get back."

Tord sighs and nods, watching Edd walk out his door and leave Tord alone with his thoughts. He eats the rest of his food, putting what Edd didn't eat in the microwave for him later. 

How was Tord going to convince Edd that this was okay? He wasn't sure. He opens his emails to inform Paul and Patryck this might not work out, and that he might need somewhere to stay for the next week incase it doesn't work. He calms down over the next 30 minutes or so, hoping Edd has too. 

Speaking of Edd, the doorknob turns and Edd walks into the room, looking a bit more relaxed. Tord is slightly relieved to see this, tapping his foot on the ground as he thinks about what Edd will say to him. Edd walks over to the couch and sits next to Tord.

"So. You have an army?"

"Yes."

"And.. And you're planning to take over the world with it?"

"Yes."

"Then why do you need my help if you have all of that?"

"Because i cant go back if I'm injured and sick. They'll see it as weakness. I could get overthrown- killed- kicked out. I can afford that, and neither can P- my friends."

Edd nods, thinking this over. Maybe things wouldn't be so bad. Tord didn't seem inherently evil, but then again, he still feels like a bit of a psychopath. It isn't like Tord was asking him to join, anyways. Like Edd would do something that drastic.

"Right.. I guess- I wont kick you out. But please, Tord. Taking over the world isn't rational."

"I don't care, Edd, I'm doing this."

Edd nods his head. It doesn't seem like Tord was going to take no for an answer. 

"I'm sorry if my answer's aren't the ones you're looking for, but I'm doing what i can."

"Alright then. We'll just.. wait until you get better, then you can leave and take over the world."

Notes: Sorry for the short chapter!! i like leaving cliffhangers, and i need to do a time skip after this one, so this chapter ended up being super short. Good news though! Tom and Matt will be in the next chapter :D see you tomorrow to the few people who read this lmao. I might release the next chapter in a few hours if I'm feeling up to it, but its extremely long for what I normally write. Maybe I'll leave it to a coin flip if nobody here says they want the next chapter lmao.
