Life is very interesting... in the end, some of your greatest pains, become your greatest strengths. -- Drew Barrymore
“I’d say the table should go over there.” I followed Natalie’s gesturing hand as she pointed to the spot. We stood in Nat’s lounge room all furniture pushed up against the wall leaving the middle of the room clear for dancing.
I picked up one of the ends of the table and glancing up I caught Gabby’s gaze as she took the other end, my best friend blew her thick black hair from her eyes in frustration and I laughed silently. Taking hold of each end we picked up the table and sat it down where Nat had gestured.
The sound of music filled my ears as we glanced up slightly startled, Nat beamed as she adjusted the volume on her iPod dock. The vibrations running along the floor and up my legs making me feel like jelly, but an empowered jelly.
Gab beamed and rushed over to Nat glancing over her shoulder as she scanned through the music playlist. I glanced around the room, was it for a party in an hour or two? Course it was.
“So Danni and them aren’t invited?” Gab asked bewildered with awe for Nat.
“Nope, I don’t want that lot here. It would be awkward; everyone would feel uncomfortable with her bitchy presence here.” Nat explained filling another bowl with some form of flavored chips. I resisted the urge to smile or blush, cause one of the ones who would feel uncomfortable? That would be me.
“Don’t forget her sidekicks.” I added jokingly.
Nat rolled her big blue eyes “Tell me about it.”
Gabby snickered “Man you’re going to get in hell for this.” Gabby didn’t mean just her parents who were away and unaware of Nat’s party. No one crossed Danni.
Nat shrugged “I’m new, I’ll be safe.” She said easily, I could tell though underneath that strong stance she was starting to have second thoughts I mean it was Danni!
Gab took a chip as Nat scanned the area “Kay, let’s get ready.”

“Fabulous.” Nat said scanning our reflections in her huge bathroom mirror. We all smiled adjusting ourselves.
Nat running her fingers through her multiple blonde shaded hair as she stood in a little black dress, its beads and glitter making her look smouldering.
On my other side stood Gabs adjusting her hot pink dress that was getting held up by her boobs. Her thick black hair was getting pushed aside so she could coat her eyelashes to make her hazel eyes pop.
Glancing at the two than I glanced at myself, comparing I was shorter and tinnier, my bright honey blonde hair sat waved and thin around my face reaching passed my shoulder blades. My face looked tiny and fragile yet my green eyes and with the help of mascara added some balance against my clear and light skin. My lips small but plumped and curvish were as always a soft pink, reminding me of Barbie’s pink. A shade I was told constantly was a gift from god that many would die for.
And yet standing there in my deep blue dress that flared out and scrunched up at my bust (which was average) I still felt out of balance because of these two girls. Their own unique beauty radiated off them and though I could even admit I held some even myself, I couldn’t see it nor feel like it with these two beside me.
“Thank you, you two gorgeous people for helping me set up also.” Nat said scrutinising her image.
I was already sick of mine “I’ll just check it out whilst you two finish up.”
