Chapter 9: The Gathering Storm

"I guess this means war," Lucifer remarked, his tone edged with determination.

"So what's it gonna be?" Michael's piercing gaze bore into Lucifer, demanding a response.

Lucifer turned his head slightly, his mind racing with strategies. Asmodeus, sensing the gravity of the situation, approached quietly and voiced his concerns, "We lack the weaponry and armor they possess, not to mention their formidable powers."

"We possess powers as well," Lucifer countered in a hushed tone, his eyes narrowing in contemplation.

"But our lower-ranking angels..." Asmodeus trailed off, the unspoken challenge hanging heavy in the air.

Lucifer's sigh betrayed a mix of resignation and resolve. "Very well," he conceded, shooting a brief, wry smile at Michael. "I suppose it's time to set our plans in motion then."

Michael's smirk widened as he responded, "Yeah."

Lucifer pivoted towards his amassed forces, assessing their numbers with a calculating gaze. Although Michael possessed the armory and weapons, Lucifer remained confident in the sheer size of his army.

Stepping closer to Michael, Lucifer locked eyes with him, his expression shifting between amusement and determination. "Be careful brother, you don't wanna start a war," he remarked with a smile and a chuckle. Michael, undeterred, maintained his smirk and replied, "I would love a war," his voice filled with eagerness.

Acknowledging the inevitable conflict, Lucifer turned back to face his awaiting troops, his grin conveying both readiness and assurance. With a raised fist, he signaled their unity, prompting a synchronized response from his followers.

Meanwhile, Michael, sensing the gravity of the situation, raised his sword high and issued a final ultimatum, "LAST CHANCE, BACK DOWN NOW OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES!" The tension hung heavy in the air, each side poised for the impending clash, as the echoes of impending conflict reverberated across the battlefield.

Lucifer's command echoed across the battlefield, "ATTACK!" In response, his army surged forward towards Michael's forces, blades gleaming in the sunlight as the clash of metal filled the air. Michael's soldiers stood firm, drawing their swords and meeting the onslaught with determined resistance. Amidst the chaos of battle, Lucifer, Michael, and Jesus remained locked in a pivotal moment.

With a self-assured smile, Lucifer proclaimed, "I am legion," his voice carrying a mix of confidence and menace. His chuckle reverberated, a chilling contrast to the heated combat surrounding them.

As Michael charged at Lucifer, sword raised, Lucifer's telekinetic powers surged into action. With a swift gesture, he halted Michael's blade mid-swing, the force of his powers causing Michael to falter and lose his grip on his weapon. Sensing an opportunity, Jesus lunged towards Lucifer with his blade, only to be effortlessly intercepted. Lucifer seized Jesus by the arm, leveraging his strength to pivot and hurl Jesus to the ground.

Meanwhile, Michael struggled to regain his footing, his face etched with a mixture of determination and fear. "So this is the weapon my father wanted you all to kill me with?" he questioned, a tremor of apprehension evident in his voice.

Michael's expression shifted to one of concern as he uttered, "Oh no," casting a worried glance at Lucifer.

Lucifer, however, responded with a chuckle, his voice laced with amusement and a hint of superiority. "Oh, how the tables have turned," he remarked, relishing the moment.
