Betty and Veronica were just as shocked as they were confused as their best friend's high school crush has suddennly become her girlfriend in quite small amount of time. I mean, the two roomates had always joked about these two ending up together, They almost rooted for them, while at the same time, teasing the shy (at the time) redhead about the crush she was experiencing. It made Cheryl helpless and hopeless. She was hopelessly devoted to the badass gang member. Everyday she would watch as Toni Topaz walked the halls of Riverdale High School. Toni always noticed but she had a reputation to keep and if she was to be caught necking the shy nerd, she would be beaten up right away and her dream of someday leading the Southside Serpents would be no longer and she didn't want to risk that. Little did High School Toni know, all of the other Serpents knew she had her eyes on a certain redhead.
However, in the present day, Toni was stood in an appartement located in the Upper East Side of New York City with her high school crush, who she kissed the other day and had literally just fucked. Nothing about what was happening felt real to the brunette right now. She was not complaining though.
Toni was lost in thought when somebody started talking. "You look the exact same as you did in High School, T." Veronica laugh referring to the shortness of the brunette. Toni didn't hear the raven-haired woman's snarky comment as she was staring blankly at a random place in the apartment and daydreaming. It took a soft nudge in the arm to snap Toni back into reality. "T?" Veronica repeated herself. The tired that was very evident on Toni's face made everyone else in the room laugh.
As Toni shook off her daze and refocused on the present moment, she found herself surrounded by familiar faces in the Upper East Side apartment. Betty and Veronica were there, along with Cheryl, who was now her girlfriend, a fact that still felt surreal to Toni.
Veronica's playful jab at Toni's height brought a small smile to her face, but her mind was still racing with thoughts and emotions from the whirlwind of events that had led her to this moment. She couldn't help but feel a mixture of excitement and uncertainty about her newfound relationship with Cheryl and the implications it had for her future.
Before Toni could respond to Veronica's teasing remark, Betty interjected with a question, her curiosity piqued by the unexpected turn of events. "So, how did this happen?" she asked, gesturing between Toni and Cheryl. "I mean, one minute you're defending her in a coffee shop, and the next, you're here together in New York City."
Toni took a deep breath, trying to collect her thoughts before speaking. "It's kind of a long story," she began, casting a glance at Cheryl, who smiled warmly at her from across the room. "But let's just say, sometimes unexpected connections happen when you least expect them."
Cheryl reached out to squeeze Toni's hand, offering silent reassurance as she listened to Toni recount the events that had led them to this moment. Despite the uncertainties and challenges they might face, Toni couldn't shake the feeling that she was exactly where she was meant to be, surrounded by friends who had become family, and a newfound love that felt like destiny.
As the evening stretched on, filled with laughter, reminiscing, and the promise of new beginnings, Toni couldn't help but feel grateful for the twists and turns that had brought her here. And as she looked around at the faces of her loved ones, she knew that no matter what the future held, she would always cherish this moment as the beginning of something beautiful.
