"Thanks." I say as I get out of Jake's truck.

He nods.

"Anytime." He says.

I smile as I shut the door.

"Where were you? Who was that? Why didn't you text me back?" Four questions as I walk through the front door of my house.

"Calm down. That was Jake, I went with him to an old diner, and I didn't get a text from you." I say, answering all of his rambling.

"Jake took you on a date?" He asks.

I roll my eyes.

"It wasn't a date. Just a friendly get together."

He slightly glares at me.

"How do you know this Jake?" He crosses his arms over his chest.

"He was the one who pierced my belly button." I say, mimicking his movements.

"You let a guy pierce your stomach?" He gives me a glare.

"Stop that!" I scream.

"Stop what?" He asks.

"That! Stop saying everything like that! Like you're a sassy white girl!"

Is that the best that I can do?

He laughs.

"A sassy white girl?" He questions.

"Whatever." I say.

I push past him and into my house.

I hear his footsteps as he follows me into the kitchen.

"Can you not?" I ask, turning around.

"Who's the sassy white girl now?" He asks.

I roll my eyes and grab an apple out of the basket on the counter.

I hear him follow me into the living room.

"It's not like it's wrong to go to the diner with Jake. We're not official or anything." I say before taking a bite out of my apple.

"What do you mean we're not official?" He asks.

I shrug.

"You've never asked me to be your girlfriend. You just asked me out on a date." I mumble.

"So yeah, I guess that it was a date." I say with a smirk.

He doesn't respond as I walk past him and up to my room.

I pull my phone out of my back pocket of my jeans to text Christina.

Hey.

She responds instantly.

Christina: Girl! How was it?!

I stare at the rectangular screen in confusion.

How'd you know that I went out with Jake?

Christina: You went out with Jake?!

Oops. She meant the call with Jake.

Oh. Yeah. We went to the diner.

Christina: The Dauntless Diner?

Yup.

Christina: Why didn't you tell me girl?!

I laugh as I text her back.

I didn't think about it.

Christina: What about Four?

I knew that she would say that.

He never asked me to be his girlfriend. We just went on a few dates.

Christina: Really?

Yup.

She doesn't respond after that.

I finish my last bite of my apple as I walk to the kitchen.

I don't see Four around. He must have left.

As I take a seat on the couch, my phone buzzes.

Jake: Do you like pizza?

I laugh.

Well hello to you too.

Jake: Do you?

Chuckling, I respond.

Yeah. Why?

Jake: Open your front door.

I give my door a confused glance and I walk towards it.

As I peek through the tiny hole in the door, I see Jake holding a large pizza box and some movies.

I slowly open the door.

"Dinner and a movie?" He asks, holding up the two items.

I laugh.

"I thought that we already had dinner." I say.

"That was more like lunch." He responds with a shrug.

"What do you say?" He adds.

I smile.

"Sure." I say.
