"I know I shouldn't be asking, but have you seen Domen?" Evette whispers into Cameron's ear as he's reaching for another glass of wine brought to him by the many servers around the party.
He might not look it, but Cameron has a way of holding down his alcohol and it takes an entire bottle of wine to get him started.
Just to get him started.
He glanced behind him and towards Evette who is still looking around.
"No." He shrugs his shoulders as he takes a sip of his glass and chokes when he suddenly remembers Lavender hasn't come back for a while now. "Have you seen Lavender? She said she had to use the bathroom and it's been like twenty minutes."
Evette clenches her jaw as she glances towards the door with an uneasy feeling boiling in her stomach.
You two better not be doing the worst...
She doesn't reply as she walks over t the door.
Cameron quickly chugs his drink before placing it on a stool and rushes up to Evette who is frantically looking around.
It's their turn to make a toast, to welcome the guest in about five minutes and he's nowhere to be seen.
Evette is starting to panic, a bit fearful what he could be doing with Lavender... Hoping it's not too drastic.
On their way towards the bathroom, they meet Heather who is standing by the entrance, gazing out of the door like a lost soul staring into nothingness.
Even with the sound of Evette's heels smacking the tiled floor, Heather doesn't turn to see who's coming.
"Uh... Mrs Southren... Have you seen Domen? We uh... Need to get ready for a speech his grandmother made for us." Evette says as she nears Domen's mother who slowly turns to gaze at Evette. "He keeps forgetting a line and grandmother will be so pissed if he messes up."
Cameron didn't follow Evette, knowing it's none of his business following her to her mother-in-law, so instead he walks over to the bathrooms, calling out her name as he gets closer to the lady's washroom.
"Domen took off with Lavender." Heather shrugs her shoulders as she watches Evette widen her eyes in terror. "He said he loved her and won't be joining us tonight. Or next week."
"... What?" Evette gives out an airy chuckle as she takes a step back. "He... He just took her and left?"
Heather sighs and walks over to Evette, holding onto her shoulder and giving it a tight squeeze as she presses her lips together and nods her head.
"You are beautiful, Evette, that's a known fact, but he's fallen for Lavender and he didn't think twice about leaving." She explains as Evette eases her shoulders and frowns slightly. "Even if I would try to stop him, he was not going to listen."
"So what will we say to the guests?" Evette asks as she laces her hands and bites her lower lip. "To... His grandmother?"
"I'll do the talking. You don't need to worry about anything." She pats Evette's shoulder and walks past her, heading towards the back.
Evette sighs out shakily as she runs a hand through her hair, knowing too well things are about to go down in flames.
She spots Cameron walking out of the corridor and into the hall, looking around and somewhat confused.
Evette makes a beeline towards him as her legs begin to turn into cement blocks with each step.
"I can't find her anywhere." Cameron says as Evette is close enough, getting her to shrug her shoulders and smile apologetically.
