The rain falls endlessly, ripping through the sky as though destined to flood the entire city.
Domen stands in front of a convenience store, staring up at the sky as his hand clenches onto the handles of the plastic bag.
He knows too well he's been out the entirety of the day and didn't give Lavender any explanation as to where he is or what he was doing.
He didn't want to.
The reality of what he's about to do settled in too hard that he couldn't think anymore and being around her was only adding more fuel to the flame.
He knew he would become hopeless, so instead, he decided it was best to listen to what Felix would say, asking... No begging for a way he could crawl out of this death trap without hurting his future with Lavender.
Felix didn't give any more suggestions from what he'd already told him.
Then left him in front of the store to collect his thoughts before he got home.
'If you keep behaving like that, you'll lose everything. Not just your money or business, but that woman of yours as well.'
Sighing loudly, Domen reaches his hand into the plastic bag and pulls out an icecream pop from the many stacks he bought just for Lavender.
Since it is her favourite.
He opens the packaging and places the tip of the icecream into his mouth, sinking his teeth in and taking a chunk into his mouth.
The sweet, milky and fruity taste instantly freezes his tongue and melts from the warmth of his mouth, giving him a sudden sense of ease as a black car pulls up into the small parking lot of the convenience store.
Knowing too well it wouldn't be his grandmother, since the store itself isn't near the city anyway, he doesn't feel the slightest scared for it.
The headlights of the black car beam into his eyes, getting him to flinch and look away before the lights turn off and the car parks in front of him.
Just as his own, the car's windows are highly tinted and barely giving any chance to see who was driving.
He simply turns his gaze from the car and towards some animal that catches his eye, running into the thick trees.
"Let's go hot-shot. We don't have all day. Felix is busy to drop you off." That familiar voice calls out to Domen who lazily shifts his gaze towards the man sticking his head out of the window despite the pouring rain soaking his hair. "And I have somewhere else to be."
Domen reluctantly pushes himself from the wall and walks over to the stairs, only to stop just before the roof ends.
"Don't you have an umbrella?" Domen furrows his brows at Raven who raises a brow at him and simply retreats into his car, closing his window.
What the heck took this idiot so long to get me. Domen clenches his jaw as the reluctance to even be in the same car with him tries to stop him.
But he's spent nearly an hour just at the convenience store that it's starting to take a toll on him.
He just wants to go home.
To Lavender.
His only comfort in all this.
Knowing too well Raven isn't about to go get him, Domen decides to step into the walk and walk over to the car, getting soaked in the rain.
He reaches down for the handle and tries to open it, only to notice it's locked.
