Targeter

I sometimes wondered at my own sanity. I was having a conference call at the same time I was writing reports. No wonder my writing looked awful.

"My Lady?"

I looked up at my gladis, startled. Propped up by a stand, a gladis showing several faces looked back at me. My confusion must have shown on my face because the girl speaking through the gladis nervously repeated the question.

"Is it a good idea to dispatch two teams over to Talianee, My Lady?" The girl, a Guardian, asked.

"Yes, Sal. Also, have them contact Jifeng Pavillion when they reach." I said.

Sal nodded and said, "I'll see to it immediately, My Lady."

I nodded my dismissal and her face disappeared from the gladis.

"You should pay more attention when we're talking." A male voice sounded out.

"I got most of the important stuff." I didn't look up from my report. "Besides, isn't that why I have you, Sean?"

"Yes, but still." A girl's voice sounded out this time.

"Then don't find me over every small problem." I said, crumpling the sheet of paper I was writing on. "June? Tell Hao Chen to contact Jifeng and give me an update about his current status. I want to see if he still requires another few teams to help him with his problem."

"On it." June replied.

Grabbing a blank sheet of paper, I began writing again.

'Dear Lord Travisky,

We sincerely apologize for the trouble caused by the current blockade on Talianee. However, with regards to the current situation with your leader, your island has been put under travel blockade to ensure the safety of Our other islands.

Please rest assured that supplies will be delivered as per needed without delay. We hope we will have your cooperation in dealing with our current problem to ensure successful partnership in the future.

Best Regards,

Targeter Snow, Princess of the Core

"Who are you writing to?" Sean asked curiously.

"Travisky." I said, signing my name with a flourish. "Relax. I didn't forge Chaos's signature this time, though it would serve him right if I did."

June raised an eyebrow and through the screen of the gladis, I could tell she was skeptical. "Send me your folder when you're done writing. I probably will get one of Hao Chen's people to look through them. And for Necromancer's sake, make your handwriting legible this time."

"Look, it's fine." I rolled my eyes, raising the paper and showing them words written in elegant cursive.

Sean sighed suddenly. "I'm worried about you, Targeter. Suddenly going back to that place is not an easy thing for you to do."

"Not tonight, Sean. I can't control it."

"What? What did they do to you?" He exclaimed.

"They haven't done anything yet. I just can't control my curse right now." I rubbed my temples. "June, don't contact me if it's not important. Now, if you'll excuse me." I said abruptly.

Switching off the gladis before they could react, I grimaced as my headache intensified. Thankfully, I had finished most of my reports. Waving a hand, the binder on my table disappeared, transported to June.

Sighing, I thought about June and Sean. June was the leader of the Guardians, an association I had created to defend the civilians. Sean was the High Commander of the Armies that were under the command of the Royal Family of the Core. The Royal Family currently included Chaos, Hao Chen, and me. Chaos had many jobs to do as he was, well, Lord of the Universe after all. Hao Chen was heir apparent to the throne and was known as the 'Peacemaker', brokering peace among all the islands and their leaders. That left me in charge of the armies as well as the defense of our world. Most of the time, if it wasn't an emergency, I left most things to June and Sean.
