overprotective

Rafe hated sharing. That was a given.

He believed that what was his should only be his to touch, to watch and to even be near.

That also included you.

Rafe hated even the thought of other men giving you attention, of other men looking at you and thinking dirty things that he knew men thought about.

He wanted to keep you purely his, away from the prying eyes of horny young men.

But he couldn't always be around you to make sure that everybody knew not to mess with you.

He couldn't always be there to scare everyone away. Which is where the problem appeared. There were many scenarios in which Rafe couldn't help himself from becoming an overprotective dog, shielding you away from anything and everything.

But you couldn't deny that you loved it.

You had been nagging Rafe to take you to the country club ever since you could remember, feeling very left out whenever he would spend his entire day playing golf while you would be stuck at Tannyhill with nothing better to do than lounge around the house.

He was very apprehensive at first, claiming that you would only get bored and would get a sunburn. But you were persistent, always used to getting your way.

"Babe, pleaseeeeee?" you dragged out the last word, following Rafe through the house as he got ready for yet another day full of golfing with Topper and Kelce.

"Princess, you know I'd never deny you anything, but you'd really be more entertained if you stayed at home. I don't want you hanging around alone while we play" he explained, his tone soft because he knew how quickly you would take it the wrong way if he was anything other than gentle with you.

You huffed, pouting. "That's not true. I just want to be with you while you do what you love, I'm so bored and so alone here all day" you whined, knowing that with a little more effort, you would get him to crack.

He sat and pondered for a moment, stopping his movements and studying your face with his hands on his hips.

"Fine, go get dressed" he finally agreed, a small smile forming on his lips once you squealed and kissed his cheek before hurrying to Rafe's bedroom where you kept all of your clothes.

It didn't take you long to get dressed, you had already picked out an outfit long before Rafe had got home and before he had fallen for your whines and pleads.

You skipped along to the front door where Rafe was waiting for you, looking all cute in your little golf outfit and a bag over your shoulder.

"Do you like my outfit?" you asked Rafe, happily twirling around to show him the entire thing.

Rafe licked his lips, trying not to let his hormones get the best of him in that particular moment.

"You look hot as always, babe" he complimented you before taking your hand pulling you close to him. "Come on, let's get going"

You gave him a kiss on the cheek before letting him guide you towards his truck, opening your door for you and doing your seatbelt before he got in himself and started the journey towards the country club.

It didn't take you guys more than 10 minutes to get there, arriving at the same time as Kelce and his girlfriend.

You all greeted each other, you and Kelce's girlfriend immediately diving into your own little world of girly gossip while the boys talked about the day ahead.

"Baby, can we go get something to drink? I'm thirsty" you pointed out to Rafe in the locker room, Kelce's girlfriend immediately backing you up and complaining to her boyfriend as well.

"Already? We just left the house babe" he said, but promptly agreed when he noticed the look you had given him. "Alright, let's go" you cheered and wrapped your arms around his neck, giving him a big kiss.

He patted your butt before he took your hand and led you towards the bar, holding your chair for you to sit down at a table near the bar itself.

You and Marissa (Kelce's girlfriend) scanned the menu, both of you settling on some cocktails.

"Are you ready to order?" Rafe asked, giving your knee a tender squeeze.

You nodded and Rafe called the waiter over, leaving you three to it when his phone started ringing.

"Good afternoon, I'll be your server for today. What can I get you?" a young man in black-and-white uniform asked, looking around the table until his eyes landed on you.

He took Marissa and Kelce's orders first before he turned his attention to you, smiling more than he should have.

"And what can I get you, gorgeous?" you gave him yours and Rafe's orders, not even paying mind to the fact that he called you gorgeous and winked at you before going away.

You didn't pay mind, but Rafe certainly did.

He quickly finished the phone call, hurrying to get back to the table before the boy got back and managed to flirt with you some more.

Rafe wasn't mad at you for not saying something to the guy, he knew you didn't know any better and probably didn't even realize he had been flirting with you. You were too kind to see people for what they really were, and he loved that about you.

But just because you wouldn't say anything, doesn't mean he wasn't going to make sure the boy knew not to even think about messing with you.

Seeing him preparing your drinks from the corner of his eye, Rafe excused himself, telling you that he was going to the bathroom, making you nod and get back to your conversation with Marissa about Topper and his new girl toy.

"Excuse me?" Rafe's voice was low as he stopped in front of the boy, making him look up and scowl.

"Yes?"

"You see that girl over there?" Rafe asked and pointed towards you, making the guy nod and lick his lips disgustingly. "That girl happens to be my girlfriend, so here's what's going to happen. You are never going to look at her again, speak to her or even attempt to be in the same room as her. If you do, I swear to God, you are going to wish you had never met me and never stepped foot on this island. Am I making myself clear?" Rafe said, making the young boy nod with fearful eyes and gulp.

Rafe smiled, a smug and satisfied expression on his face as he returned to the table, content when you took his hand and intertwined your fingers.

"Everything okay?" you asked, running your nails down his arm as you knew he liked.

He nodded, leaning over the table to kiss your cheek as the boy returned with your drinks, hurriedly placing them on the table before turning around and walking back towards the bar.

Mission accomplished, Rafe thought to himself.
