Omega was hot on Harpers trail, she was following her quickly. They were running as fast as they could to reach the base.
They make it and found a vent that leads into the base.
"Heh, just like Tech said." Harper muttered.
Omega tried climbing up it but she couldn't get a good grip. Harper went on one knee and put her hands out for her foot to help her. Omega looked down then stepped down on her hands and Harper helped her up to the vent. Omega started crawling through it then Harper made her way up there.
"Where are we heading?" Omega whispered.
"Remember, you're my backup. If anything goes wrong you have to go get the batch. You stay up here like they said. I have to find Crosshair and speak to him." Harper whispered.
"Right. But...could I go with you?" Omega asked.
"We can't screw up this mission. Just stay where you're supposed to stay." Harper says.
"Fine." Omega mumbled.
They continued crawling through the tunnel until they heard a scratchy voice. Omega stopped walking and Harper crawled in front of her. Harper peaked through a hole and saw Crosshair. A soft smile a crossed her face.
"Yes sir." Crosshair said then started walking away through the hallway by himself. The other man he was speaking to walked the other direction away.
"He's leaving. Let's go." Omega whispered.
"No, stay here. Follow me through the vents." Harper whispered then jumped out the vent and landed on the floor. She started following Crosshair.
He was walking with extreme straight posture, acting like he rules this place. He still had his black armor on. Weirdly he didn't have his helmet on.
She continued the sneak up on him, having the advantage.
He just stopped, out of nowhere.
"Are you just going to continue to be my shadow everywhere I go?!" Crosshair said violently.
"I guess things never change, do they Cross?" Harper said with a smile. He looked over his shoulder back at her and gave her a glare. She lifted a brow.
He turned around and pointed his gun at her. She stood still.
"Haha," Harper says sarcastically. "So funny Cross."
"Does it look like I'm joking?!" Crosshair spat.
Harper stayed silent. He looked around.
"Where's your brothers?" Crosshair asked.
"They're not here." Harper says.
"Yeah like I believe that." Crosshair narrowed his eyes.
Harper took a step forward then he cocked his gun. She stopped in her tracks.
"It's alright, Cross. I came to get you back. Remember? We don't leave our own behind." Harper says.
"Oh like you left me behind!" Crosshair shouts.
"Crosshair, you know I didn't want to. I was gonna stay but Hunter grabbed my arm at the last second and pulled me to the ship. It wasn't by choice. I wasn't gonna leave you, I promise." Harper says as she slowly took one step forward then stopped.
"I tried getting back to you the quickest I could. I never stopped trying." Harper says then took one more step then stopped.
"You're lying." Crosshair says with his gun still pointed at her.
