After the Fact. -Ethan winters x Fem reader-

July 21st

"I may be pregnant."

Ethan laughed at you as the words came out of your mouth, more so a nervous laughter than a happy one. Your eyes watered and you looked up at Ethan and began crying.

"I- I cannot get pregnant. Why didn't you... you pull out!" She sobbed into his chest, he let out a low chuckle snd rubbed her back. "You told me not to stop love." He teased.

"Shut up."

—-A day later—-

That night you asked Mia to keep Rose an extra night so you and Ethan could go take a pregnancy test and prepare for the open house. It got pushed back so you two had time to get yourselves together.

You and Ethan made it to the dollar store and bought three pregnancy tests. Ethan checked out and you stayed in the car, too embarrassed to buy them yourself as you knew the store owner too well.

When we made it back in the car you grabbed the test and made sure he bought the right one and he drove home, you were anxious the entire ride home. Ethan tried talking to you but you didn't and couldn't speak for anything.

"Baby.."

"Y/n."

You felt Ethan shake you and you clicked back into reality, you were home. You didn't say anything and you went inside and bolted straight to the bathroom. You instantly took all three tests and left the bathroom and went to Ethan. "You okay?" He asked while putting drinks up. "Yea, they're processing or something, im scared what are we gonna do if they're positive?"  You rambled. "Then we embrace it love, we have the money for the house, we can go look at it and get it if it's what you want." He said while giving you a kiss on the head.

"You're so helpful it's actually unhelpful." You said while sitting at the kitchen island. Ethan laughed at that statement and sat next to you. "I wanna watch tv, maybe I can watch it and then ignore the tests. Maybe, yes, let's watch tv!" You said and went to the couch, you heard Ethan let a sigh out and he sat next to you, again.

"I'm sorry baby, I'm nervous, with rose it was like a new start but this- this is too much." You said while Ethan played with your hair, he knew it calmed you down and it did.

-a hour later-

You managed to fall asleep so you forgot about the tests, it wasn't until you jumped in your asleep for the alarm to start getting ready for the open house that you remembered the tests. You pushed Ethan out of the way and ran to the bathroom.

You closed your eyes and flipped the tests over, as you opened your eyes you were left confused.

Negative

"What the fuck?" You said, Ethan walked in and he looked at the tests.

"Huh?" He said, sharing your confusion. "Is this possible? Wouldn't this be a false positive then?" He asked, you shrugged looked closer at the test. "Maybe two negatives cancel the positive out?" You said setting it down. Ethan picked the positive test up and then the negative, looking for a faint extra line but nothing.

"Well.. im guessing it canceled out, false positive. Let's get ready." You said and went to the closet picking a cute outfit for the open house. Ethan shrugged and got ready as well.
