two weeks later

I stood in front of my class and watched them struggle to hold their horse stance.

"Miss! It burns!" One of the students shouted. "You got.." I say looking at my watch. "Two more minutes." I cross my arms and look around.

"Remember, if you drop, you gotta do 20 push-ups." I said. The students groaned and kept their stance.

The students I'm training are in between the ages of seven and ten. Some of them are pretty strong for their age, and that's a good thing. Meaning they'll either be a master, or regular person who doesn't use firebending as much.

A knocked filled the room and the sliding door opened.

"Head mistress, this came for you." Kimmy said, holding an envelope. I nod and look back at my class.

"Dismissed." I say. My students bowed and so did I. Half of them dropped to the floor and panted. I chuckle and shake my head.

"Thank you, Kim." I smile. I grab the envelope and open it.

It's from Tenzin.

Dear Keira,
I'm having a ceremony for Jinora, and I would like you to be there for it. She's finally getting her arrows after she showed what she was capable of when she saved Korra. But anyway, I heard you're a head mistress and a Lieutenant. That's honestly pretty amazing. I just hope you're able to attend the ceremony. Everyone is looking forward to seeing you again.

I sigh and close my eyes.

"Listen up!" I turn around to face my class, putting my hands behind my back.

"I'm gonna be gone for a couple days. You guys will get the time off while im away, so use it wisely." I say.

"How long will you be gone for?" Akira asked. "No clue." I shrug.

"Anyway, I need to get going." I said and walked out the training room.

"Do you think she's gonna make it?" Lin asked Kya. "Don't worry, she'll make it. You gotta remember it's almost a 6 hour boat ride from the Fire Nation to here." Kya said.

Lin sighed. She was hoping to see Keira after a week of not seeing her. And honestly, Lin has been okay without Keira. Work has been distracting her so she doesn't have time to think about her life, just work. Every now and then Keira will pop up in her head and she'll get upset that she's not here with her.

"Chief, Kya, the ceremony is starting." Mako said. They both nodded and followed Mako into the ceremony room.

The room was filled with tons of people. All the recovered Airbenders were standing together.

Lin and Kya split directions. Kya going right, Lin going left.

Tenzin and Jinora stood in the middle of the Airbenders.

"Jinora, come forward." Tenzin says and Jinora obeyed her fathers order. She then kneeled, the hood staying over her head.

"Today we welcome the first Airbending master in a generation, and I couldn be more proud of my daughter. When the existence of our people was threatened, when the Avatar's life hung in the balance, Jinora never gave up hope. Thanks to her leadership, I see a very bright future for the Air Nation. Of course there would be no Air Nation without Avatar Korra. She opened the portals and somehow a new world began for us. And she was even willing to lay down her own life in order to protect ours." Tenzin says proudly.

Meanwhile Tenzin was giving his big speech for his daughter becoming a master, Keira arrived at Air Temple Island.

She made her way up all the steps and reached the double doors. Two guards standing outside the doors noticed her.

"I'm late, aren't I?" She asks. "Yes, but it actually just started." The man on the left said. "Good. I didn't want to miss the whole thing." She said. "May I step inside?" She asked. They nod and push the doors open, letting her inside.

She quickly and quietly made her way to the inside and to the side, not wanting to distract anyone. No one noticed her creep inside either.

"Avatar Korra, I vow that we will do everything in our power to follow in your footsteps and bring harmony to the world." Tenzin said. He put his hands in two and bowed to Korra, who let out a soft smile.

"Now, let's anoint the master who will help lead us to out new path." He said and walked to his daughter, pulling her hood down.

Jinora took the robe off and stood up.

All the other Airbenders bent the incense candles up, and around the platform Jinora was on. As the air flowed through the room, it hit some wind chimes, making a beautiful sound.

Jinora smiled and hugged her father, who hugged her back.

Everyone clapped and stood up and Jinora bowed, the people bowing too.

"Everyone is welcome to come to the after party." Tenzin said.

I walked around with a drink in my hand, trying to find Lin, who was no where to be seen. I found Kya though.

"Hey." I said, spooking her a bit. "Oh, hey." She said with a smile. "How are you feeling?" I ask, looking at her casted arm and crutches. "I'm slowly getting better." She says. "That's good." I said.

"Oh, uh, Lin is looking for you." She said. "I've been walking around for the past couple minutes trying to find her, but I don't see her anywhere." I shrugged, looking around again. "Well, I'm gonna go look around again." I said and walked away. Kya and I just gave each other a wave.

After about another 5 minutes of walking around, I found Lin in an empty room, sitting on a couch. She looked so out of it.

I smile and lean on the door frame.

"You're not gonna dance?" I say causing her to look up.

She smiled and got up, immediately coming over to hug me. I held my drink out so she didn't squish it between us.

"I missed you." She said. "And I missed you too." I said wrapping one arm around her. She placed her head in the crook of my neck.

I leaned down without breaking the hug and set my drink on the table, then wrapped both arms around her.

We stood in a hug for a couple minutes until she let go of me.

"I love you." She stood on her tippy toes and kissed me. I smile into the kiss. Spirits did i miss this.

I pulled away.

"I love you too." I said and pecked her lips again.

"I missed your kisses." She chuckled.

"You did, huh?" I raise my brows with a soft smile.

I placed my hands on her waist and pulled her closer.

I went to kiss her once more but a certain song started playing and everyone screamed.

"Well," Lin let go of me. "Wanna go dance?" She asked.

"Lin beifong asking me to dance?" I chuckle. "Oh shut up." She smiled and drug me out the room to the dance floor.
