I blinked and then stood up as Billie started crying, her body trembling. I walked over to her, not knowing what to say or do. "Billie, what's wrong? Did they say something wrong?" I asked, my voice soft and concerned.

She ended the call with, "I'm heading over there right now."

"I- I need to go. Just take care of Alex and Rose." She said and tried to run but I caught her arm.

"Tell me where are you going first. I'll follow you."

"It's something about the fucked up plane that went missing years ago and they're finally done with finding what the fuck happened. You stay with the kids and I'll go there. It was my friend Zoe who called earlier." She slipped out from my grip and started running back. "Don't tell the kids unless they ask, okay?" She shouted over her shoulder before disappearing into the crowd.

I nodded and Rose was busy doing her castle and Alex came back, helping Rose with the sandcastle.

I sprinted to the car and I took one of Henry's hoodies. Zoe finally drove over and she picked me up. I sat in the passenger seat and Zoe placed a hand on mine. "The devil was with us all along."

"I knew something was off with Maevie! I told you bitch! She was lying the whole time! Goddamn bitch!" I shouted, my voice hoarse from screaming. Zoe just drove and didn't say anything. We arrived at the airport and went straight to the private room. There was a table with water and snacks and two chairs. A man in a suit came in and sat across from us.

"Billie, thank you for coming." He said, his voice soft and calm. "It took us a while to decode AA370, but we've finally gotten through it. The passengers were alive when the plane went down."

"SO? Was it the pilot who hijacked the plane like you fools said?" I demanded, my voice shaking with rage.

"Miss Eilish, we're sorry. We really are. We just found out that Maevie, along with another crew, Benjamin, had some contact with the satellite provider and they had change the satellite data. That's why it was insufficient. The plane was actually on the correct flight path, with the air-control traffic watching all the planes that were on the monitor, when all of a sudden AA370 vanishes off radar. Meaning, all the communication systems were turned off, the transponder was switched off, and all the flight control systems were shut down."

"But what did Maevie and Benjamin had to do with this crap? I mean, I knew Maevie was a fucking bitch, but why would she do this?" I asked, still trying to process the information. Zoe placed a hand on my shoulder. "They had some grudge against you. And they actually did it for the world's stupidest reason." He explained.

"And the reason was?" I asked.

"You can meet her." He said and two bodyguards walked in, Maevie handcuffed. I could slap her right now. "She's been under protective custody. She wanted to meet you, Billie." I felt like I was dreaming. "She says she's sorry for all the pain she's caused you and your family."

"Bitch what the fuck did you do with the plane?? The fuck did you do with Jesse?" I demanded, my anger boiling over. Maevie looked down, shame written all over her face. "He was a good pilot, he didn't deserve to die like that. I- I was just trying to get my hands on the money, I didn't think about what would happen to everyone else." Her voice was shaky and I wanted to punch her.

"There was money in the cargo? I KNEW SOMETHING WAS OFF! YOU FUCKING FUCKED UP MY LIFE! YOU MADE ME LOSE JESSE! YOU TOOK AWAY MY JESSE! AND YET, YOU HAD THE AUDACITY TO GO ON AND SAY EVERYTHING WOULD BE ALRIGHT!" I screamed, tears streaming down my face. Maevie winced at my outburst. "You think this is going to be okay, bitch? You think this is going to make things better? Huh? Huh?" I pointed my finger at her. "You are going to rot in jail for the rest of your life, you fucking cunt!" I shouted, my voice raw.

"B-Billie I'm sorry. . ."

"Where's the plane?" I demanded, tears still streaming down my face. "Where's Jesse's body? I want to see him!" I wanted answers. I wanted justice. Maevie swallowed hard, her eyes darting around the room. She knew she couldn't answer. "You're going to rot in jail, Maevie. I hope you enjoy it. I hope you think about what you've done every single day of your life." I turned away from her, not wanting to look.

"It's hidden away in the Cambodian Jungle. They made the plane crash into the middle of nowhere. There are no survivors, but we found some bodies, including Jesse's." The man in the suit said, his voice soft and solemn.

"Y'all can find the bodies after six years?" Zoe asked, clearly incredulous. The man shrugged. "We had our ways. The important thing is that they're found. You'll be able to bury them properly and move on." I felt a weight lift off my shoulders. At least Jesse would finally have a proper burial.

"C-Can I see him?" I asked, my voice barely audible. The man in the suit nodded and led me to a room where the bodies had been placed. There lay Jesse, his face peaceful, his body untouched. I felt a lump forming in my throat as I walked up to him. I reached out and touched his cold hand, tears streaming down my face.

I hugged him and kissed his forehead, thanking him for everything he's done for me. I cried as I held him, my heart aching with the loss of my best friend, my lover, and my partner. It felt like a part of me had died along with him, and I knew that nothing would ever be the same again. But somehow, just being able to see him, to hold him, and to say goodbye gave me a sense of closure. I knew that he was at peace, and that he was no longer suffering.

I felt someone kiss my shoulder and realized it was Henry. He wrapped his arms around me, holding me close as I continued to cry over Jesse's body. "I'm so sorry, Billie. I know it's not the same, but he's in a better place." His words brought me some comfort, and I leaned into his embrace.

"Isn't there any way we can revive him?" I cried out, my fingers entwined with Jesse's cold ones. "Please tell me there's something we can do!" The man in the suit shook his head solemnly. "I'm sorry, Billie. Even if we could, it wouldn't be the same. He's gone, and he's at peace." I buried my face into Jesse's chest, unable to accept the reality of the situation. Henry held me even tighter, his hand rubbing soothing circles on my back.

Time seemed to stand still as we remained in that room, holding on to the last remnants of the man I loved. Eventually, the man in the suit came to collect us. "We need to go to the police station now. We'll get everything sorted out from there." I didn't want to leave Jesse's side, but I knew that I had to. I took one last look at his peaceful face and I kissed his lips, whispering a final "I love you" before I reluctantly let go.

As we drove to the police station, I couldn't help but wonder if Maevie's confession would be enough to put her away for the rest of her life. I knew that the evidence against her was overwhelming, but there was still a small part of me that hoped she would find some way to wriggle out of it. But at the same time, I felt a twisted sense of satisfaction knowing that she would have to live with what she had done for the rest of her life.
