As they pulled into their driveways, Billie wiped away the last of her tears and took a deep breath, trying to compose herself. "I guess I just need some time to myself tonight," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Do you want me to come over later?" Zoe nodded, understanding the need for some alone time, but also wanting to be there for her friend.

Billie thanked her and got out of the car, trudging slowly up to her front door. She unlocked it and stepped inside, the familiar scent of home washing over her. She kicked off her shoes and collapsed onto the couch, staring blankly at the TV screen. It was then that she noticed a piece of paper sticking out from under her coffee table. Curious, she reached over and picked it up. It was a folded note, addressed to her.

Her heart pounded as she opened it, her hands trembling.

I love you, even if you're fuckin' annoying ;)

She cried harder, remembering that time when Jesse playfully wrote this letter, hiding it in her room. She missed him so much. And now, with the news of the pilot's past surfacing, she couldn't help but feel even more confused and heartbroken. She wished she knew what to do. She wished Jesse were here with her, holding her and telling her everything was going to be okay.

She felt a warm presence behind her and turned around to see Zoe standing there, a concerned expression on her face. "Hey, I know it's been a rough day, but I wanted to check on you. Is there anything I can do to help?" Zoe asked gently, her voice soft and comforting.

"I- I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow."

"Babe are you even taking enough rest? C'mon, even if it's not for you it's for the baby. You're gonna be 9 months soon and it's not a joke. You need to take care of yourself and the little one inside you," Zoe said, her tone gentle yet firm. She sat down beside Billie and put her arm around her shoulders, pulling her close. "And if you need anything from me, just say the word. You know I'll be there for you."

Billie leaned into Zoe's shoulder, feeling the warmth and comfort of her friend's presence. She knew that Zoe was right; she needed to take care of herself and the baby. But she also couldn't help but feel like she was failing Jesse somehow. Like she was betraying him by moving on, even if it was just to keep living.

"Thanks, Zoe. I know you're right. I'll try to rest more tonight. And I appreciate your offer. It means a lot to me," Billie said, her voice barely above a whisper. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly, trying to calm her racing thoughts.

As they sat together on the couch, Zoe reached over and took Billie's hand in hers, giving it a squeeze. "Hey, I was thinking, maybe after your appointment tomorrow, we could go for a walk or something. Fresh air always helps, you know?" Billie nodded, forcing a small smile. "Yeah, that sounds nice. I could use some fresh air."

The next day, Billie went to her doctor's appointment feeling somewhat better than she had the night before. The sun was shining brightly outside, and the air was crisp and clean. It was as if nature itself was trying to remind her that there was still beauty in the world, even in the midst of all this pain.

"Billie, I'm well aware about what had happened and I'm so sorry. But you need to take care of yourself, the baby's showing signs of distress." The midwife looked concerned as she explained the situation to Billie. She nodded as she processed the news. "I understand," she managed to say. "What are my options?"

"Well, you could try to take things slow, maybe take a break from all the stress in the world and just focus on yourself and the baby for a while. Or, if you really feel like you need to know more about what's going on, I can refer you to a specialist." The midwife paused, considering her words carefully. "But I want you to know that no matter what you decide, I'm here to support you."

Billie took a deep breath, feeling overwhelmed by the options and the responsibility that came with them. She knew that she couldn't keep living this way, constantly haunted by the past and the secrets that seemed to surround everyone she loved. She needed to find some kind of peace, some kind of closure.

"Thank you, I appreciate your advice," she said to the midwife, her voice shaky. "I think I'll take some time to myself, try and clear my head. I'll let you know if I change my mind about seeing a specialist."

As she left the doctor's office, Billie felt a mix of emotions. Part of her was relieved that she had a plan, however vague, but another part was terrified of what she might find out. She knew that she couldn't keep living like this, constantly on edge and filled with doubt. She needed answers, but she also needed peace.

Billie decided to meet up with Zoe after her appointment, hoping that her friend's company would help her feel a little less alone. They went for a long walk through the park, talking about everything except for what was really on Billie's mind. Zoe's presence was comforting, and Billie found herself leaning on her friend more than ever.

Billie got a call from Maevie and she answered it.

"Billie they say they've found some debris, but they're not sure if it belongs to AA370."
