Finnick glared daggers at Thalia. Thalia tried to look prideful as stepped up on the pedestal.
"Now for the men"! Rissa exclaimed.
The daggers soon turned to disappointment in his eyes.
He didn't even look at Rissa when she called his name.
He just kept staring and Thalia. He walked to the pedestal next to Thalia and grabbed her hand. Thalia's clammy hand shook in Finnick's strong grip.
They walked down the carpet to the victors train, escorted by peacekeepers."Thawia"! Tess yelled, and ran to Thalia.
Thalia's mother was running after Tess to catch her.The peacekeeper hit Tess in the forehead head forcibly with the butt of his gun, knocking Tess on her back.
Thalia immediately ripped off the guy's helmet leaving his face free to the public and punched him, square in the face.
Finnick scrambled to try and pick up Tess, but he was pushed away by more peacekeepers.
Thalia's mother was screaming. Thalia was still attacking that peacekeeper when another whacked Thalia in the back baseball bat style with the butt of his gun.
Thalia fell to the ground of the peacekeeper's back.
" Don't you ever touch her"! Finnick yelled.
Finnick shoved the guy and started to try and fight.
Tess had been thrown aside the scuffle and was now returned to Thalia's mother's arms. She didn't look too hurt, only a bleeding cut on her forehead. It didn't look too deep.
"Enough"! The head peacekeeper boomed.
The peacekeepers threw Thalia and Finnick onto the train.
Thalia knocked and pounded on the window of the door as they closed in.
She stared at the look of terror in her mother's eyes as she pounded the glass and the train pulled away."What the hell are you doing?" Snapped Finnick.
He paced around the train car.
" Fin-." He cut her off.
" You promised me you wouldn't volunteer, Thalia! You lied to me. I thought we weren't supposed to make empty promises anymore".His words hit her like a brick.
" You know I had no choice, Finnick. You'd really want Annie in here over me? Or Mags?" She cried.
She started to cry and went to her bedroom. She locked the door behind her. She didn't need Finnick following her now. She had lied to the only person who ever stuck around, the only person who ever truly loved her.
And she had betrayed and burned away their trust.
She got in the shower to hopefully feel some type of relief. Her back was throbbing and started to bruise from where the peacekeeper hit her.
