I gently pat Aera's back after handing her a glass of water. She glared at me. I smiled slyly at her and apologized. I could not stop the smile that was spreading across my face.

She kissed me back instead of punching me

She kissed me back instead of punching me. The candy is the only thing that went wrong.

"Stop smiling." Aera gently pushed my face away from her. I drew her close and cuddled her. Her arm was wrapped around my waist.

"Can I ask you something?" I ask, stroking my fingers through her soft hair.

"Alright," she says.

"You did not get back with Paul?"

She lifted her head and looked at me, perplexed. "What made you think that?"

"I remember seeing you with him that night. You two were hugging." The memory of that night still hurts.

"I would not be here if we reconciled," she replied, burrowing her face back into my shoulder.

"His girlfriend asked for a favor, and that was all I did. They were expecting a baby." She clarified.

My friends were right; I should have asked her before jumping to conclusions. I felt absurd.

"Was that why you were ignoring me?" She inquired.

"Yeah," I said, laughing at my own foolishness.

She squeezed my cheeks. "You could have come and asked me. All you need to do is cross over at my restaurant or building."

"Ahhh, aww, that hurts," I complained, prying her fingers from my cheeks.

I pressed my forehead against hers and looked deeply into her eyes. "Take a chance on me, Aera," I said as I caressed her cheek.

"Jimin, I am scared. I might be hurt again, or I might hurt you. "I have not quite healed yet," she told me.

"Let us take things slowly." I would not give up. "Promise, I will make things right. Please," I begged her.

Her eyes reflected her conflicting emotions. For a brief moment, I feared she would say no.

I can not get over how happy I was when she nodded. I squish her into me.

"Can't breathe," yanking my arms off her.

"Sorry," I said as I gave her a brief deep kiss.

"Yeessss!" I yelled out of joy.

"Stop it. Somebody might hear you!" She put her hand over my mouth.

We stayed inside the bedroom and was content simply cuddling her. I have to restrain myself so I do not scare her away. I promised her we would take things slowly.

I was so happy that I could not stop smiling on my way to work. Aera was already in her restaurant, going about her usual morning routine.

I noticed one of her crew members carrying a bag and crossing the street towards my studio.
