A Moment Ruined

My parents invited Aera and me to join them for dinner. My mother adored her because she was such a lovely person.

It was my first time introducing them to a girlfriend, and they were overjoyed, asking when we planned to marry so they could start having grandchildren.

Aera flushed bright red, and I choked on my food. I told them it was too soon to talk about it.

Aera remained silent throughout our drive home.

I reached for her hand and kissed it, "Why are you so silent?" I asked her.

She rested her head on my shoulder and did not reply. I am bothered by her silence.

When we arrived at my place, I led her to the couch and sat her on my lap.

"Please tell me what is wrong, love," I asked. "Was this something my parents said?"

She lets out a sigh.

"Jimin," her voice was barely a whisper.

"Hmm?"I hummed against her hair.

"I was scared," she says. My shirt began to feel damp.

"Hey, do not cry," I said, pulling her closer to me to calm her down. "Tell me what scares you."

She sniffed.

"What if I do not meet your expectations, or I am not enough for you, and you get tired of me?"She murmured.

I chuckled, lifting her head off my chest to look into her eyes. Her chocolate brown eyes locked onto mine.

"Have I told you that I have been attracted to you for quite some time?" She shook her head.
"I was already head over heels for you from the first time I saw you," I admitted.

"You are lying. You have been with a lot of girls." She objected. "I have seen you with them."

"That, my love, is something I cannot deny." I told her. "I was nervous around you, and I am not sure how to approach you." I admitted.

I went on when I noticed her brow furrow. "You were such a snob, and it was intimidating."

"I am not a snob."She complained.

"Scratched that. You have an aura around you that draws me in, but I am also intimidated by you. So do not be afraid because I will never grow tired of you. The truth is that I cannot get enough of you." I proceeded to kiss her neck.

"Jimin," she moaned. I shifted her position on my lap so she was straddling me.

"I love you, Aera," I whispered in her ears.

"I love you too, Jimin," she responded.

I stopped kissing her, surprised. "What did you just say?" I asked her again.

"I told you I loved you," she repeated. "Now, kiss me!" she demanded.

She does not have to tell me twice. I was ecstatic. Finally, she has officially become my girlfriend.

"Park Jimin?" A lady called out my name. I was in a jewelry store to get a gift for Aera's birthday.

I turned around and saw Song Yuna. She is one of the girls I have dated in the past. We lost touch when she left to study abroad.

"Song Yuna, long time no see!" I greeted her.

"Good to see you, Jimin-si." She kissed me on the mouth.
