My gaze fixed on Jimin. He used to smile and wave back at me. I could not quite figure out what had gotten into him today that he ignored me. I have not spoken with him since he told me he liked me.
I was scared of taking another chance. My relationship with my ex-fiancè did not end well, leaving me devastated. After that, I was afraid to entrust my heart to anyone again.
The sound of a wind chime on my restaurant's entrance door draws my attention. I looked over and noticed Kim Taehyung walking in. He waved at me before heading to the counter. My crew flushed red as she took Taehyung's order. I can not really blame her. Even in middle school, he was a good-looking kid.
"Hi!" Taehyung took up the seat across from mine where I was eating my breakfast. I slapped his hand as he took one of my sausages and put it in his mouth. He never changed. We were not particularly close, but we did spend some time together on school projects and participated in the same group activities.
"It is my birthday next weekend." He informed me."I am hoping you can come."
I arched my brow. "You have never invited me before," I exclaimed with surprise.
"I did, but you are such a snob, you never came," he replied, pointing his fork at me.
"Yun-hae is always around you and will pick a fight with any girl who even looks at you!" I made a face.
Yun-hae hates me because she believes I am stealing Taehyung from her. That is why I never got too close to him, but he was a nice guy.
"Do not remind me about that, please," he said, shuddering. I burst out laughing. Remembering the breakup drama in the school cafeteria. He threw an omelet at me, saying, "Stop laughing."
"How did you become friends with Jimin?" I inquired curiously.
He swallowed his food before speaking. "We were in the same department in college." He gave me a teasing glance. "Why are you asking?" If you have any questions about Jimin, you can ask him directly." Taehyung wiggled his brows.
"Awww!" he exclaimed after I kicked his feet under the table.
When I arrived at Taehyung's house, there were few people present. I saw some of our old classmates but avoided them. I still had not forgotten how they blamed me for my breakup with Paul.
I looked around for Taehyung and saw him talking with other guys. He motioned me over to them. As I approached, I noticed Jimin was among them.
He averted his gaze and smiled at someone behind me. I turned around to see whom he was smiling at. I am not sure why I was jealous when I saw how beautiful the girl was.
I felt insignificant in comparison to her.
Taehyung approached me, led me to their seats, and introduced me to his friends. "Hey everyone, I want you to meet Aera,"
Everyone except Jimin said hello. He is starting to get on my nerves. If he wants to ignore me, I will play along.
Yoongi caught my attention. He is pretty cute. He scooted slightly to the side, and I took a seat next to him. Jimin cast a menacing glance at Yoongi. Yoongi leaned against our seat and draped his arm over the back.
Yoongi and I talked throughout the night. He was an absolute gentleman. He paid close attention. He even skinned my prawns for me. I smiled gratefully, and he winked at me. I rolled my eyes and laughed heartily. He was doing it purposefully. Men! I exclaimed internally.
Jimin was sitting at the other table with the girl, but he was glaring at me and Yoongi. Yoongi whispered something to me, which made me giggle.
I was yanked sharply away from Yoongi.
Jimin gripped my hand tightly and dragged me into the house. Everyone turned their heads to look at us.We walked into a bedroom, and he slammed the door.
He placed his arms on either side of me. I gulped. He appeared to be extremely angry.
"What do you think you are doing?" I stutter. His intense stare makes me feel uneasy. He pressed himself against me. "What do you think you are doing to me?" he said hoarsely into my ear.
"You were flirting with another girl. I can do the same," I replied. I tried to push him, but he pressed harder against me.
"Look at me, Aera," he commanded. His voice was strained.
I turned my head slightly. Our lips are almost touching because his face is so close to mine.
"Jimin," my voice was barely audible. I could smell his minty breath on my face. I was very conscious. My breath smelled like prawns. I was eating when he pulled me away.
The moment I felt his lips on mine, all rational thought vanished. This was the only time I was not intoxicated by alcohol. I was drunk when we first kissed, and it blew my mind. This time I was sober, and my brain had completely shut down. I did not think about anything else but how our lips fit perfectly together.
I did not even notice when he carried me to bed. I just felt my back against the soft sheet.
He broke off our kiss. I look at him, confused. He took something out of his pocket and opened it with his teeth.
My face turned bright red as he popped a candy into his mouth. He must have tasted the garlic and prawns. It is not my fault. He was the one who dragged me away from my meal.
He kissed me again, more deeply this time. I felt his tongue seek an opening. He grinds against me, making me gasp. He took advantage of this and thrust his tongue into my mouth. He passed the candy from him to me. It went straight to my throat, choking me.
