Andrea's P.O.V.

Luna, Caroline, and I speed-walked to dinner.

"I can't believe you made us late," Caroline said.

"Technically, we're not late yet," I told her.

"We can still make it on time," Luna backed me up.

"Yeah we're almost there," I turned to Caroline and said just as we rounded a corner. Since I wasn't looking where I was going , I accidentally slammed into some kid. We both fell to the ground.

"Look where you're-" the guy started to tell me harshly.

"I'm so sorry!" I interrupted him. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," he rolled his eyes at me. I got up and quickly offered him a hand, which he ignored. "I'm Andrea Stephens."

"Draco Malfoy," he answered stiffly. Oh my gosh this is Draco? I thought to myself.

"This is Caroline and-" I started to introduce my friends.

"Luna. I know her," Draco said. I detected some hostility in his voice. "This is Crab and Goyle," he motioned to the guys who stood around him as if they were his bodyguards.

"Well, it's been fun. But we have to go," Caroline said, and started dragging Luna and I away.

"Nice meeting you," I said quickly to Draco and his friends as I was being pulled. Draco gave a small wave, almost looking bewildered at my friendliness. When we finally got to dinner and sat down, Caroline gave me a confused look.

"What was that all about?" she asked.

"I'm supposed to become friends with him," I leaned in and told her and Luna quietly. "Dumbledore wants Rose and I to be nice to him and whatnot."

"Why?" Luna asked.

"Reasons I guess," I shrugged and said vaguely. I didn't really think Dumbledore wanted Rose and I blabbing to all our friends. Bad enough Rose told Fred and George.

"That's weird," Caroline said.

"Tell me about it," I replied.

Dinner went by quickly, and when we were dismissed I told Caroline and Luna I needed to talk to Rose, and then began looking for her. After a few minutes I found her, talking with Fred and George.

"Hey, can I talk to you?" I asked, they looked at the boys, "Alone?"

"Sure," Rose nodded, then gave the twins a little wave as we started walking off down the hall. "What's up?"

"I met Draco," I told her. "He's sort of stuck up, but he's not too bad."

"How did you meet?"

"I ran into him by accident."

"Really?" Rose laughed, "That's how I first met him!"

"I apologized, and we introduced ourselves."

"Oh, he still doesn't know my name. You need to introduce us."

"Well," I said, "I don't think he liked me. And wouldn't it be awkward if I introduced a guy I didn't know to my best friend?"

"I guess, but-" Rose started. The next thing I knew she was sprawled out on the floor. I heard the sound of laughter as a Slytherin and a Ravenclaw ran off away from us. "They tripped me!" Rose shouted angrily as she got up from the floor. I winced as I saw blood trickle slightly from her nose.

"Come on. I'll help with your nose," I told Rose, but she had already began chasing off after the guys who tripped her.

Sighing, I followed her in pursuit. After we made a left turn, we saw the boys leaning against the wall, snickering. I guess they figured we wouldn't chase them, since their faces conveyed shock. They took off running, but after a minute, Rose and I caught up to them. Apparently without thinking, Rose tackled the boy clad in Ravenclaw blue. Instead of tackling the Slytherin guy, I pushed him against a wall.

"Whats' your deal?" Rose spat at them. "You can't just trip people like that!"

"Get off of me," the Ravenclaw grumbled at her. I didn't recognize him, though I figured he was in our year. He was a scrawny boy, and Rose easily kept him pinned. The Slytherin I held captive seemed a little younger than us, and also small.

"Apologize," I told the Ravenclaw. Then turned to the Slytherin. "Now."

"It was his idea!" the Slytherin cried out desperately. The Ravenclaw rolled his eyes.

"He's the Slytherin," the Ravenclaw said.

"Slytherin doesn't mean liar! A Slytherin is clever and cunning, not evil," the green guy quickly defended his house.

"It doesn't matter!" Rose said. "Now I have a bloody nose because of you!"

"Actually," the Ravenclaw said with a smirk, "Your nose was pretty crooked even before I tripped you."

"Why you little-" Rose spat.

"What's going on here?" a familiar voice said. I turned my head to see none other than Draco Malfoy and his two bodyguards walking towards us.

"These jerks tripped me!" Rose said with fury, still glaring at the guy she had pinned down.

"Kyle? Is that you?" Draco asked the Slytherin with a smirk. Draco laughed. "Wait til I tell the whole house how you got beat by a Ravenclaw and a Gryffindor. By girls."

"Please don't," the guy, Kyle, asked Draco.

"Apologize to the Gryffindoor," Draco shrugged, "And maybe I won't tell."

"Fine! I'm sorry!" he said stiffly to Rose then turned to me. "Can I go now?"

"Sure," I took a step back, and the guy quickly sped off.

"And imagine," Draco now turned to the Ravenclaw, "What your teachers would say if they knew you gave this girl a bloody nose? There goes all your awards. You'd no longer be 'Goody Goody Greg'."

"Maybe I don't want to be that guy who is seen as a goody two shoes!" the ravenclaw said.

"There goes your chance at being a prefect, too," Draco continued. "Oh how disappointed your parents would be! When they get an owl saying their son got detention."

"Will you just shut up?" the Ravenclaw spat.

"Apologize," Draco commanded.

"Sorry," the Ravenclaw said sourly to Rose. "And get off of me."

"Good enough," Rose shrugged and got of of the guy, who walked quickly away. She turned to Draco. "Thanks."

"No problem," he answered. "Fancy seeing you again," Draco said to me politely, almost forced.

"Same here," I replied. "Draco, this is my best friend Rose."

"Hey," Rose greeted and shook his hand.

"Pleasure meeting you," Draco said, once again in his forced polite voice. "I must be going now, bye Rose. Bye Andrea," he said, then turned to leave. "Come on Crab and Goyle."

And with that, our mission, Draco Malfoy, walked away. Once he was gone Rose turned to me.

"So that's him," she said. "Our new best friend."
