RAYA ALLESTER ; MIST                                                                                                                 September 22,2022

It was time to go back to school. Great.

Even worse, I had to show around a new kid because I had a lot of the same classes as him. It's so stupid. Why can't he just find his own classes on his own, it's not that hard to do?

When I got to school, I went to the front office to help the guy. When I got there I kinda just froze for a second. It was the same person who helped me not die the other day. It was Inferno.

"Oh, Raya, great your here. This is Allen. He is new and I need you to show him around the school and help him get to his classes on time because you have almost all the same classes. Okay?" the assistant at the front desk said.

"Sure." I said as I tried to ignore the fact that I had to hang out with Inferno, or "Allen" now, the WHOLE DAY! This is terrible.

"Come with me Allen, unless you want to be late on your first day?" I said with a big fake smile on my face.

We had to run to our first class, History, with Miss Rold. Great. Just great. She already hates me, now she probably hates me more because I made the new student late on the first day.

"Miss Allester, your late, again. Oh, is that the new student? And if so, you had to make him late on the first day?" she said with annoyance written on her face.

"Sorry Miss, but we were getting his schedule, and I was trying to make sure that he knew where his locker was."

"Oh, well I guess that isn't a terrible excuse. Please have a seat, Raya. And you," she said as she pointed at the new kid behind me." come with me and we can figure out your seat, and so I can know your name."

I sat down in the back like I always did. The rest of the students went back to talking like they always did too. Then, my day got even worse. Miss Rold put Allen right next to me. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? When he sat down next to me, I could tell that he had a ton of questions. Probably on the whole running away after he just saved me fiasco, but he kept to himself, which I was grateful for.

For the rest of the class, nothing really happened. All we did was take notes on the story of Perseus, the greek hero. Yeah, he's awesome from what I can tell.

Right when the bell rang I jumped up and ran to the door hoping that I wouldn't have to talk to Allen about what happened yesterday. But, my day would just keep getting worse from there. Right when I thought I lost him, he appeared right next to me. I tried not to show that I was annoyed on my face, but I think he noticed. He ignored it and the questions flowed out.

"Why did you run away yesterday? How do you know me? Why do you hate me? And when is lunch?" he asked at a record-breaking speed.
"Okay, one question at a time." I said with visible confusion on my face.
"Okay, one: why did you run away yesterday?"

"I had to be somewhere." I said trying to not look like I was lying.

"...Two: How do you know me? We met literally just the other day?"

"I don't know you."

"Yes, you do."

"No, I don't."

"Yes you do somehow." he said sternly.

"Three: why do you hate me already? All I know about you is your name."

"I don't hate you, I'm just having a bad day."

"Got it, don't mess with you when you're having a bad day. And lastly, when lunch?"

"11:40."

"Thank you."

You're welcome."

The rest of the day we didn't talk a lot. At lunch, we sat at the same table but didn't talk to each other. When it was the end of the day, I almost sprinted to get out of there as quickly as I could. I wanted to get home to Alurra.

When I got home, I didn't notice that the door was unlocked, even though I know I lock the door every time. I didn't notice that the house was completely quiet. I didn't notice that there were just random things on the floor, a symbol of struggle. And finally, I didn't notice that Allen was walking the same way home with me.

When I did notice these things, something clicked in my mind. I ran to Alurra's room, and the sight scared me so much that I screamed. Her room was trashed. There were broken lamps, and toys were thrown everywhere. Lastly, the worse part was Mrs. Smith was unconscious in the corner of the room, and Alurra was nowhere to be found. I checked the entire house, but she wasn't there.

I ran out of the house, hoping that maybe she was just hiding outside. I yelled out her name so many times, I'm positive that the neighbors were thinking I finally went crazy.

But the last thing I expected to see was Allen. He ran toward me and asked me what was wrong.

"Alurra, she's gone, she's gone. I don't know where she is. She's nowhere in the house!" I said with such panic that I couldn't quite hear what I was saying now.

"Hey, hey, look, we'll find her. What does she look like?" he asked while trying to calm me down.

"Um, she has slightly brown curly hair like you, bright beautiful blue eyes, um, she may be as tall as just below my hips. Please help me find her." I said as I held onto him as I might disappear like Alurra.

"Hey, it's going to be alright. We just need to report this to the police and they get this fixed," he said with concern in his voice.

"No, no not that. Here, come into the house. I need your help on something." I said as I grabbed his hand and pulled him into the house. I needed him to know who I was so he could help me better.

I pulled him into my room and locked the door, scared that someone might hear me, and someone might take me away like Alurra. I turned around to see him blushing. I don't know why and I don't care right now.

"Okay, I've never told anyone this, not even my parents. Look you know me as Raya, But most of the world knows me as Mist." I said as quickly as I could. I couldn't open my eyes now for some reason. It was quiet. It was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. It felt like it had been an hour of us just standing there, but it was just five minutes. Then, something happened that I did not expect to happen in a million years. He hugged me. HE HUGGED ME!

"I know, and you probably know who I am. Look let's find your sister and then we'll talk about this later, Okay?"

I was surprised he took it this well. I thought he was going to start attacking me, or maybe just leave, but not hug me and say he was still going to help me find my sister. I started to cry right then and there and hugged him tighter than ever before. I cried my eyes out just standing there. I don't know how long we stood like that, just in silence holding onto each other, with me just sobbing.
