"Mumma!" With his school bag bouncing on his bag a four year old boy held his troffee in his hand which was somewhat bigger than his face.

Eyes glittering with proud Ahaana's lips curved into a sweet smile as she picked up her son showering his face with kisses as her fragrance of motherly love caressed him "I am so happy for you , my boy!" She stated holding him tight in her arms.

Avi , a little kid having pair of beautiful grey eyes just like his biological father and curls resembling his mother just smiled encircling his small hands around his only parent's neck.

"Come , let's have your favourite ice cream today.." holding on Avi's hand Ahana his mother spoke up guiding them both towards the car.

Avi being the obedient child followed his mother as she adjusted him on the passenger seat before driving away from the school.

They drove in silence with Avi occasionally stealing glances of his mother parting his lips to speak but going mum again which didn't went unnoticed by Ahaana.

"What new crime have you committed , kiddo?" She asked keeping her eyes on the road in a I-know-you-very-well tone.
The four year old bit his lip looking down before he slowly uttered "I..slapped a friend.."

Ahaana 's eyes widened as she stopped the car staring at her son unblinkingly. She smacked her forehead negatively oscillating her head.

"God! You are a gone case!" She exclaimed a little loudly trying not to freak out at the kid.

Avi eventhough wasn't a spoiled kid but he was definitely very short tempered for his own good

"Sowy..Mumma.." with his grey eyes casted down Avi murmured making Ahaana melt like an ice-cream on a hot sunny day.

She sighed deeply. No matter what happens, there's no chance she can get angry over her son cause he was the only one she had to call her own in this world filled with strangers and not to forget the people who often address her as characterless.

"Don't say sorry to me.. say it to your friend..and promise me that you will never do anything like this again .."
forwarding her palm Ahaana stated making Avi beam at her with happiness nodding his head positively as he kept his hand over hers.

Starting the car again she adjusted her seatbelt asking "By the way..whats the name of this friend?"

Keeping his school bag on the back seat Avi spoke up "Moksh Suryavanshi.."

That's it . Colours drained from her face with her mind going totally blank. Her palms that were holding the staring firmly went numb as if loosing their strength.

Suryavanshi.

A surname she associated with betrayal.
"Get the hell out of here you characterless whore..!"

"My son isn't an idiot to even look at someone as cheap as you let alone love.."

"Mumma!" Avi exclaimed snapping Ahaana out of her trance.

Looking forward Ahaana found a truck coming towards them her palms turned sweaty as she abruptly turned the staring wheel of the car in another direction making it crash on a nearby tree.

Thankfully. They were safe because of the air bag. She looked beside to find her son's face etech with fear. The little soul was trembling breathing sharply.
Wasting no time Ahaana engulfed him in a hug caressing his back. Tears making way down her cheeks.

"Sor.ry.. beta.." she kept on chanting holding her lifeline tighter.

Putting her son to sleep Ahaan covered him with a blanket as she rose to her feet walking towards the balcony.
Five long years have passed since she was tagged characterless.

Since her entire life went upside down.
Since her family abandoned her.
Today after hearing that surname a weird feeling made its way in her.
Suryavanshi

Closing her eyes Ahaana inhaled deeply as if trying to calm the chaos within her which seemed to have no end.
One mistake and everything changed.
