"10TH PLACE??!!"
All the members of the Elite Force were shocked when Franco and Tedashii told them about the meeting.
"We are not in tenth place; we are the last guild to have a formidable use for Sir Williams," Tedashii said.
"A majority of the guilds have members who have a similar prowess to their captain. We, on the other hand, are mixed up. Meaning that if it ever came to facing an elemental demoniac, only one of us would be able to damage it," Franco added. "Not just that, keep in mind that we are also the only guild that hasn't yet gotten respect from our district. So we have the lowest chance of being called to stop a robbery."
They were all demoralized by their current circumstances. What was the point of becoming ronins if nobody wanted their help?
"No, that can be fixed," Tedashii said. "Speaking about morale with our district, we can change that...But to be useful against threat will be the problem."
They all sat down and began to think.
"That will also have to wait, you guys."
They heard Mr Haruki speaking from their badges on their guild coats.
"Mister Haruki? You can communicate with us like this?" Adrian asked.
"Yup! And I have even better news. I have enrolled you guys in school."
They were all silent.
"You did WHAT??!!" They all asked.
"HAHAHA! Thank me later because-"
"Thank you ?! I'LL KILL YOU!!" Tedashii exclaimed.
"WHY THE HELL WOULD WE EVEN NEED TO GO TO SCHOOL?!" Rin asked. "We are already smart, right, guys?"
They all looked at him in disagreement.
"You guys did not even let me finish!"
They calmed down and listened. "This is a school that every guild in Legon City attends, so I want you guys to attend as well."
They all stopped frowning now that they understood.
"Oh, this still has to do with our guild," Ado said.
"And all the guilds are going to attend as well. That will be a small school, don't you think?" Leah asked. "Yeah, now that I think about it, only ten guilds exist. Why bring all of us to such a big place?"
"Did you guys think you're the only guilds in Legon?"
Haruki sent a message to their AI.
CLICK!
Adrian opened the file, displaying 125 guilds who also enrolled there.
"125?! How are there so many?" Tedashii asked.
"Tedashii, don't forget we were not the only ones to enter the dream world. The rest of them were others from different cities, and not everyone failed," Franco said.
"That's exactly what I mean. The rest of these guilds were either humans or ronin guilds, so they will all try to enter the school. Everyone is welcome...but they won't take freeloading heroes; this will be your only shot to prove to the world who we are!"
BEEP!
Haruki cut the call, and they were all glancing at each other.
"This is our only shot...so if we fail..." Ado was afraid to end his long journey here.
"That won't happen. We will succeed and finally dodge this ditch of hatred." Makoto said.
"Max is right; the entry exam is tomorrow, so let's all get ready for the exam!"
"YEAH!!"
Tedashii excited everyone, but then it died down. "THAT BASTARD DIDN'T EVEN MENTION THE EXAM!!" Tedashii slanted.
"Don't worry; it says it all on the website," Ado said while entering the school page on the AI. "It will be a logic test, and then the captains of each team will fight to see who ranks the highest."
They all looked at Tedashii.
"HA! If that's the case, we have it secured, right captain?!" Gent asked.
But Tedashii then remembered his encounter with all of them. They were all out of his league, if not better. "Uhh...y-yeah, I can take them all out!"
But Franco was not convinced by his response. "Tedashii...if you are afraid of fighting them, you can tell us. We rather not get our hopes up if you doubt yourself."
Tedashii did not wipe the smile on his face. "Don't worry, Franco. If I fear them now, I won't be able to face them in reality. So I'll have my chin up all the way! Don't worry." He assured him.
"If you say so. But remember,..." He held Tedashii's shoulder and smiled. "We are all counting on you!"
They all came to cheer him on, boosting his confidence and freeing him from fear.
"Thanks, guys. And I promise you guys, we will make it to the top!"
YEAH!!
