"Complete," You said, as you clapped your hands.
"Yep," Aki said, standing next to you.
They had defeated another devil.
A few days have passed since they learned that their blood was related.
You and Aki have been going on a couple of missions together.
Since Makima had told Aki to look after you, he is still technically doing that. Even though it is confirmed that you are not a dangerous person like people thought at first, but just an ordinary Devil Hunter, with an unusual devil contract. Aki is stuck taking care of you since Makima doesn't give him any changes. You were still new, but you did not need to be in someone's care.
Which was completely fine for the two of you, since you guys didn't want to be separated. They just reunited.
You learned everything about how the Devil Hunter organization works, and a little bit more about devils itself while going on more and more missions. Aki had taught you a lot.
"Oh yeah, Aki, your devil contract," You said, as you guys were heading towards the HQ.
"Yeah, what about it," Aki replied.
"It's a fox right?"
"Yes."
"And I remembered that your arm was covered in bandages. Did you give like give a part of your arm to it? For the contract?" You asked.
"Well, my skin, technically," He said calmly.
"WHAT, DIDN'T IT HURT??" You yelled suddenly, as you grabbed his arm frantically.
"It's normal. Some people give their eye, their kidney, you name it. There's also a contract where you give it some of your lifespan."
"...I feel guilty." You said as you looked down, still holding your brother's precious arm.
"Aki-kun?"
"Huh?"
You both turned around at the voice.
A lady was standing there, with an eyepatch on her right eye.
"Hime-" Aki started but was intruppted.
"NEVER MIND, SORRY FOR DISTURBING!!" The lady turned around the other way and walked away.
"Do you know her?" You asked, confused.
"Yeah, she's kinda like my work partner."
"Oh, you sometimes go on missions with her too right?" You remembered Aki mentioning his work partner.
Aki nodded. "Anyways, what were you talking about?"
"I feel guilty cuz my contract is only for me to live. It should have been more-"
"Stop it, you're special. There's nothing wrong with it. We do need unusual people in our job."
"..." You remained silent.
Himeno bit the bottom of her lip, looking down.
She stopped walking and turned around a corner. She leaned on the wall as she took out her cigarette. She lit it and sighed out smokes. The smoke looked darker than usual.
"I did know he has a mission to take care of a thunder girl," Himeno mumbled to herself. "Nothing more."
"But I thought the mission's already completed."
