I caved, accepting Liams offer to stay at his place until I can find a new apartment. We head back there so I can drop off what little clothes I was able to salvage, hopefully something matches in this pile. I'll have to go shopping soon.
With only the two rooms in his house, my stomach flutters with the knowledge that we will be sharing a bed for the foreseeable future. We already did, technically, but he was practically unconscious and I was exhausted and hadn't planned on crashing in his bed.
I get dressed, managing to find a pair of black slacks that flare slightly at the bottom and look pretty sexy with my boots, and a blood red silky blouse. Liam lets out a whistle when I come out of the bedroom to the living room, looking up from his phone and putting it down on the arm of the chair.
"Now that's more like it," He grins, looking me up and down. If I could blush, I would, and I tuck my hair behind my ear shyly. I look at him and he looks good, too. His hair is combed back and he is wearing black dress pants with a tucked in dark blue button up shirt. His sleeves are rolled up his forearms, exposing his veiny muscular arms and I feel my mouth water.
"We better get going before I change my mind and flee the country." I joke, and he raises his eyebrows with a smile.
"Is that an option?" he laughs.
"Not really." I admit, walking toward his front door. He follows me out and we leave his house for the second time today.

It's midnight. It's still raining, which is why I chose to slick my hair back in a tight ponytail. No use in wasting time styling it if it's going to get ruined. My stomach flips, nausea bubbling up every now and then as we drive to Nicolas's mansion on the boundary line of the city. Once we park, I'm almost positive I'll vomit all over Liam's dashboard.
"I'm not so sure about this." I mumble, clutching my stomach with both hands, staring up at his white house that reaches three stories up into the rainy darkness. Liam cuts the engine and sighs, turning to face me with piercing blue eyes. He puts a hand on my knee and squeezes it gently.
"We don't have a choice. Let's just go get this done, and see what happens." He pulls his hand away, and I wish he would put it back. He gets out, walking slowly even in the downpour, to my side of the truck and opens my door for me chivalrously. He opens an umbrella that I didn't even see him with, holding it over the space in front of the door and putting his hand out for me to take. If I wasn't so goddamned nervous, I would act like a queen stepping out of a carriage. Instead, I hop out and straighten my top. He watches me from under the cover of our umbrella, the raindrops loud as they hit the plastic. I look up at him, and he gazes down at me with an eerie calmness, a small smile on his lips.
"You really do look amazing." He mumbles, voice low.
"Thank you. Let's hope it keeps us alive." I say sarcastically.
"Hey," he interrupts as I try to walk around him. He blocks me, putting his free hand out and scooping me back into him. He leans down and puts his mouth to my ear, and I shiver at his warm breath on my neck.
"Take a deep breath," he commands in a sultry voice, vibrating the space between us. I freeze, and he chuckles darkly. "I'm not letting go until you do as I say." He murmurs into my ear, and I obey, drawing a slow, shaky breath into my lungs until my chest rises. I close my eyes, blowing it out through pursed lips.
"Again," he says, and my heart thumps double time.
I take another breath and release it slower this time, admittedly feeling calmer.
"Good girl," he purrs, and I look up at him with heavy eyes. He chuckles, turning us toward the marble steps, his arm still around my waist. My head spins, and I wonder why that was so attractive as he guides me to the door.
