When Axl got home from the bar, everybody was sitting in the living room, including Rick and Allan. Izzy sat up, "Oh, he's back."
Steven seemed especially wriggly, "Allan Allan will you please tell us what it is now?"
"C'mon dude!"
"Just spit it out already, man!"
"What!? What is going on?" Axl exclaimed in irritation.
"Okay okay, I was waiting for Princess to get back to tell you guys, but David Geffen reached out with me, and they'd like to bring you boys in and talk about signing a record deal."
They were silent for a moment, "Wait- like, David Geffen, as in Geffen records? That worked with Elton John?"
"They- want to sign us? And like, make an album?"
Allan seemed to pick up on their curiosity and slight shock, "He said that it would be best to discuss the terms of the deal in person, but, yes, he said that he was really interested in working on an album with you guys."
They exchanged wide-eyed looks with each other for a few seconds until Steven finally squealed, "We're gonna be real rockstars!" And that was seemingly all they need and they all lit up with excitement, breaking off in excited discussion and exclamations. It was finally happening, record companies wanted them, they wanted to sign them and help them make music and put it out into the world, make them famous, make them legends. Everything they've ever wanted was now going to be right at there feet. It was all finally happening.
They went in to meet David Geffen straight away the next day. It was all just so.. Unreal. It felt like it wasn't actually happening, more like they were watching it happen. Like it just couldn't be real, that they, with their dirty leather boots and long teased hair were walking through these formal hallways with big gold records on the walls, all of them imagining where on the wall their records will fit. David seemed like a standup guy, and Allan did a lot of the talking for them and sorting things out legally.
And they signed their names, and it was done. Guns N' Roses was officially signed by Geffen Records. They were now set to begin working on an album, and they were each individually given eight fucking thousand dollars in advance just for signing the papers and agreeing to get started on the album. Eight thousand dollars was plenty to pay for their drinks that night.
It was probably one of the best fucking great nights of their lives. Everybody was drinking, smoking, taking, doing, and fucking anything and everything and not giving a single fuck about the world or money. It was incredible. They barely had to take any drugs, they were all plenty high on excitement alone. Then you have excitement, plus pretty much anything on the face of the fucking planet that you can put in your body, and they all felt like fucking Gods.
With guys like Izzy or Slash or Steven, who are hammered or stoned out of their minds whenever they get the chance, with now eight thousand dollars in their pockets, they probably needed to be studied for science for how the fuck were they not yet dead. Duff was known for his love of alcohol, but he usually stayed away from most drugs, even he now was higher than Ozzy Osbourne on the fucking moon. And Axl, who was more sober than he was not, was probably as loaded if not more than the rest of them.
It was just mind-boggling, he could barely sit up straight, the world was constantly spinning and it was wonderful, he had no fucking clue what the hell was going on, but everybody around him looked happy and were having a great time, getting wasted, getting blown, whatever the fuck it was, and he was just in the most incredible mood of his fucking life.
He just couldn't stop smiling and pretty much everything anybody said was hilarious. He had not a single inhibition left in his body, to the point if somebody went up to him and dared him to Irish dance on top of the pool table in a lace thong or give Allan a lap dance, not only would he not hesitate, he would also first exclaim 'THAT IS THE BEST IDEA EVER.'
