Locked in-part 3

Sarah's pov:
I come back into Charlie's room after popping out to grab some water. When I walked back into the room Nick and Charlie were both asleep cuddled up together, they looked so adorable together.

A nurse walks in soon after I sit down on a chair near the hospital bed that both boys are fast asleep on. Nick has his arms wrapped tightly around Charlie's waist.

"Hello I'm just here to check how everything is going" the nurse told me.

"Hi" I greeted the nurse.

"Are they asleep?" The nurse asked.

"Yes they are" I replied.

"Okay I will be as quick as I can" the nurse said.

The nurse goes over to Charlie and all the machines a checks them all before upping the pain meds in Charlie's IV, "okay I am all done, everything looks good" the nurse told me before she walked out of the room to go check on other patients.

I sit and watch something on my phone while the boys are asleep. About 10 minutes later Nick starts tossing and turning, I go over to him and rub his arm to try calm him down.

He calms down and his eyes slowly start flicking open, he looks around but soon realises where he is and looks down at Charlie before looking back at me.

"Did I fall asleep?" Nick asks quietly.

"Yes you did honey" I told him.

"Whoops" he says sounding a little annoyed.

"It's okay love, everything is okay" I reassured him.

"Is Charlie still asleep" I asked.

"Yeah he is" Nick mumbles.

"I think his last blood transfusion is done" Nick points to the machine.

"I will go find someone" I say.

Just as I was about to go out find someone, a nurse walks in and checks on Charlie and the disconnected Charlie's second IV from the transfusion machine.

Charlie starts tossing and pulling his wrist away as the nurse tries to take out the IV, Nick holds Charlie and quiets him as he was whining and whimpering in his sleep.

The nurse gets the needle out and cleans Charlie's hand and wrist before moving over to the other side to take out the other IV Charlie had in.

Charlie continued to whimper as the nurse took out the second IV, Nick was trying his best to calm Charlie down but Charlie was not able to calm down at all.

Once the nurse was done she cleaned everything up and disconnected all the machines and asked Nick to take off the sticky pads that were all over Charlie's chest because Charlie didn't want to be touched by any more doctors or nurses.

While nick was taking off all the pads I was signing the discharge papers so we could go home and get Charlie home and out of the hospital.

Nick woke Charlie up and helped him change before we left the hospital and hopped in the car to go home.

Nick's pov:
I'm sitting in the back of the car with Charlie, he's definitely fast asleep with his head resting on my shoulder.

I am glad we can go home now and he can come home with me and I can hold him in my arms while we sleep, I am never letting him go ever again.

We arrive home after a what feels like a long drive but is actually only 20 minutes, I carry Charlie out of the car and inside the house and upstairs to my room.

I take off his shoes and get him comfortable in bed before I go and my mum clean up the bathroom so Charlie won't get a too bad of a flash back of what happened in here.

Once the bathroom is clean I wash my hands and go back to my room where Charlie is still sound asleep in my bed.

I get changed and hopped into bed next to Charlie and kiss him on his forehead before pulling him close to me and playing with his hair.

Soon I feel myself slipping away into a peaceful sleep with Charlie in my arms...
